Looking for some help or explanation on Mission

Hey! I have a Surface Recovery mission for 2 geological samples. According to the mission the intel says these should be located somewhere in the "Burojinura" system. I've traveled there and scanned the nav beacon as well as done an FSS mode scan of the system, but I'm never getting a message popping up telling me a search area or anything like that. That is what has happened previously on missions like this. Do I have to make landfall on every planet in the system (there are quite a few) in order to search or is something not working correctly?

Any advice would be very much appreciated as I'm still quite a new player.

Thanks!

Thanks, that's what I had been doing, then finally I got frustrated and decided to go to Griffith Station. On my way there I passed by the "right" planet and all of a sudden got the mission update. Did I do something wrong or should I have known what planet it was once I scanned the nav beacon?

Scanning the Nav Beacon should update the mission. Some don't realise you need to target the 'white' Nav Beacon in normal space and let the scan complete? And others don't realise the nav panel scrolls, otherwise no clue 🤷‍♀️

Yes. Something wasn’t right. I just did one the other day where I hadn’t even been to the target system before. I didn’t need to scan the nav beacon because the “undiscovered” planet was in blue. When you get within some close proximity, I think <5ls, the surface contact appears. You can then target it manually or via the nav panel.
