Make Mining Worth The Venture!

Absolutely fine with that. I know many miners who prefer not to know their asteroids :)

:D Come on lol, you know that was specifically referring to when I thought you were cluster mining. I have no issue at all with someone who's taken the time to simply do some analysis of the spawn rates.

As I said, the difference in an average haul before and after the new minerals appears like night and day to me but I make a point of not arguing with statistics unless I have some to back up my own position and I simply don't record them.

Based on what you're telling, me, if it's really just a case of waiting for things to average themselves out I'll just sit here and look forward to the time I go out and 80% of what I find is painite because that's about what it would take right now just to offset the difference between what I would have expected to find and what I have actually found on my last few trips :D

I'll have a proper look at the reddit when I get home, I have a feeling I have the miners reddit bookmarked from ages ago but I really need to get some work done!

Regarding the Haz Res, yeah I had 20km in my mind as the cut-off point and did use to aim for about 15km which was usually safe. When I'm in my 'proper' mining Python in the bubble it's not really an issue anyway because I have grade 5 dirty drives on it and no npc is catching it (plus I could always just fit my Clipper out for mining, that does 675 :D) but last week I was at Colonia in a Python I built there and didn't want to risk it. I think I'm going to engineer the gear for a second good Python miner when I get back to the bubble and put it in storage, then next time I head out to Colonia I can just buy a Python there, ship the gear over and kit it out properly.

Mining is fine the way it is, if they need to change anything, make it harder to crash onto the rocks, if your mining 200t of rocks for 50k your either doing it wrong or for the engineer
I make 2 million a mining run in an hour(usually, it can take a while to find some painite rocks) and that's only with 90t of cargo and if they increase fragment profit then it will probably be the safest and best way to make credits without 'exploiting"

The way to make mining turn a higher profit than trading (which would make sense, as you're fetching stuff from the source to sell at full price), or at least on par with trading, is to raise the prices of goods while keeping the current differences between buy and sell prices.

Rock Mining is just fine with mission stacks once you have good rep the problem is ice mining sucks balls HARD... never ever find low temp diamonds!
