Background
I feel that the scarab has lost much of it's usefulness. Does anyone else feel as though it's not as useful as it once was, or could be? Prior to the Odyssey expansion, and even early on once it was released, I would still use the scarab often but then realized that it was quicker to ship-hop from scan to scan. I've periodically tried to get back into running the scarab but in the end I always revert back to the seemingly quicker ship method of scanning biologics. You just don't have the same birds-eye view that you get in your ship.
Proposal
Add a 'drone' that could be launched from the scarab to scan the local or assigned area, perhaps within a few kilometers, and report that data back to the scarab via telemetry and integrate it with the hud scanner. The drone could stay airborne for a period of time to assist the driver in locating biologics within range.
