Making Your Finale Pack

If I designed one final wrap up pack, it would make it a Gondwana Pack, themed around the southern continents (+India & Arabia) that once made up the supercontinent of Gondwana given that's where the majority of my remaining wants are from. It includes 5 species from South America, 3 from Oceania, 3 from Africa and 2 from India.

1. Short-beaked Echidna - Oceania
2. Goodfellow's Tree Kangaroo - Oceania
3. Patagonian Mara - South America
4. Hamadryas Baboon - Africa & Arabia
5. Bolivian Squirrel Monkey - South America
6. Cotton-top Tamarin - South America
7. South American Coati - South America
8. Blackbuck - India
9. Greater Rhea - South America
10. Australian Pelican - Oceania
11. Secretary Bird - Africa
12. Jackson's Chameleon [E] - Africa
13. King Cobra [E] - India

Of course if this was solely my own wants there'd be a lot more from Oceania but I also tried to factor in some community wants here too 😅

I’m so glad the 100% of players that are not posting on this forum do want the secretary bird and markhor, just not the realistic builders that want only clones

How would the markhor not be a clone? Wouldn’t it be close to an ibex? Also me not putting a markhor or secretary bird on my wishlists is not the same as me condemning them. No more than you not putting a duck means you hate ducks.

Also most of the realistic builders also want non-clone animals. The tree kangaroo is fairly popular, but at this point almost every animal that can be added into game could use the existing rigs. I’m genuinely curious why you seem to have an axe to grind, I understand you play a game your way and I play it mine. But realistic players are part of the community, and I promise you there are amazing mods for unrealistic zoo animals, I remember seeing some for whales.

I do understand the feeling to a certain extent though, I play planet zoo for the animals. If I had it my way this game would have had only animal packs for awhile now. But that wouldn’t fly, as there is more of a community than just my wants who play the game differently. A lot of people play this game for the building.

I’ll give it to you, the secretary bird would be a unique animal, probably would need a new rig or heavily edit/ change the flamingo and crane rig. It’s not like we also didn’t get unrealistic animals either, the saiga is a perfect animal for that.

I’m sorry if people have been rude to you about the animals you like, but I promise people aren’t hoping for a lack of the markhor or secretary bird. At this point everyone is gonna have animals that didn’t make it.

The markhor is a soft clone

I have a problem with mega clones like brown bears, giraffe, zebra, lion, wolf, gorilla and leopard clones. They are bad clones.

Markhor, Scarlet Ibis, Spectacled Bear, Golden Pheasant and Black Swan are good clones.

I do vote for a duck, the Torrent Duck and Mandarin Duck, I think new rigs are the most important ones, like Secretary, Walrus, Gerenuk, Muntjac and Tree Kangaroo, Modders fail horrible at those as they can’t create new rigs and behaviors

I feel that although I think a lot of people here have at least one from your top row that they'd be happy to see. Most of them would be about as happy with a model update.

At this point I've just accepted that there are going to be some clone animals included in each pack. I usually vote for a mix of them in part because we're likely to get a mix. Some people are just trying to figure out what are the best options for that type of slot within a pack. Usually there is about a third from each category but slightly less from the best one.
  1. red river hog, water monitor, addax, Somali wild, black rhino, peccary, wild boar, wisent
  2. lar gibbon--bumping this one up for the fixes that came with, Dromedary camel, dama gazelle was a bit different?, quokka, little penguin, takin, saiga, sloth bear
  3. fossa, sloth, porcupine, sand cat, kiwi, Tasmanian devil, swan, wolverine
Category One Good and Sometimes Essential, Easy Filler:
Some good clones/easy animals that I'd like to see: squirrel monkey or perhaps even a tufted capuchin, finishing the bears at the species level, blackbuck, birds (American flamingo would probably be the easiest and a crowned crane would be awesome), bighorn sheep are at the really easy end, Pallas's cat, ocelot, spurred tortoise, African croc, Australian monitor, maybe another canid or two for the dog-lovers?, wapiti, honey badger

Category Two More Interesting and Complex Picks:
Some middle-difficulty animals that I'd like to see: Baboon (maybe adding a tail is harder than I thought and that's why it was skipped), ducks, spoonbill, pheasants, musk ox, markhor, walrus (the texture for all of those rippling wrinkles might make this a harder one), serval, muntjac or another little deer with fangs, lion tailed macaque and/or grey langur, rabbit from quokka

Category 3 Most Exciting Headliner Animals:
Some new and difficult animals I would love to see: tree kangaroo, spider monkey, howler monkey, tamarins, tamandua, pelicans, secretary bird, colobus monkey and/or guenons, aquatic turtle, coati, manatee?, echidna, new world porcupine, marten, etc.

There are definitely some clones I'd be more happy to see than others, and completely new animals, even ones I'm not personally fond of, are always exciting on some level. Some players can't or won't use mods for a variety of reasons. Regional rep for the base game is still important. So, yeah, I'd say finishing the bears at the species level is just as important as some of the animals from other categories. In some cases, I might be more excited about the bears. Regardless, we get a mix of both, and it's fine to want a few model-wise redundant icons. Some are sure to make it in.

I understand it is easy for them to add easy to create clones, but putting in/wishing for bad clones (brown bear, lion, giraffe, zebra, wolf, gorilla, leopard, elehant and in a way also the flamingo) in the FINAL pack is like a crime for me, if you use clones at least go for markhor and spectacled bears, the soft clones which at least LOOK different. I don’t care for the different skin of the giraffe and zebra, or that some copy-paste lion lives in asia. Get those animals far away from the last pack, and start wishing for those in planet zoo 2 or ask modders for that 2 second job instead, secretary bird has nothing like it in the game, it has priority, and that is a simple fact

Markhor also makes sense since we only have 2-and a half goat/sheep in the game

Normally I would not ad flamingo to my hate list, but since it is the last pack they better add roserate spoonbill yor scarlet ibis instead

Being conservative about it, I'm not going to assume more content than usual even if that is the typical Frontier pattern.
  • Hamadryas baboon.
  • Serval.
  • Waterbuck.
  • Sumatran tiger.
  • Geoffroy's spider monkey.
  • Cape Barren goose.
  • Great white pelican.
  • Tuatara (E).
That would pretty much be my perfect final pack. It would cover the last of what I need for a New Zealand zoo (excepting tamarins and the squirrel monkey, really), plus the pelican as a bonus.

If I was to add, say, two more habitat species:
  • Sumatran rhinoceros.
  • Gentoo penguin.
Alternatively, a pack that is literally just monkeys would make me pretty happy.

My biggest issue with a final pack at this point isn’t the number of species missing but that a lot of my most wanted species require quite complex rigs such as the Tamandua or Spider Monkey or they are birds and monkeys which frontier seem allergic too, so they are unlikely to all appear in one pack.
My dream final pack at this point would probably be something along the lines of:

1. Geoffrey’s Spider Monkey
2. South American Coati
3. Spectacled Bear
4. Southern Tamandua
5. Patagonian Mara
6. Golden Lion Tamarin
7. Secretary Bird
8. Grey Crowned Crane
9. Gelada
10. Mantled Guereza
11. Goodfellow’s Tree Kangaroo
12. Any Pelican
13. Any Chameleon

My Dream Final Pack would look like this. Maybe the Tamandua could also work as an Habitat animal.

1. South American Coati
2. Goodfellows Tree Kangaroo
3. Patagonian Mara
4. Walrus
5. Great White Pelican
6. Black Howler Monkey
7. Musk Ox
8. Secretary Bird
9. Hamadryas Baboon
10. Greater Eland
11. Southern Tamandua
12. Red and White Giant Flying Squirrel (WE)
13. Jacksons Chameleon (E)

Most deffinetly not a WTE animal. Why would it be? They are more active than sloths and large enough. It would work just like another arboreal animal we already got.
Yeah you are right. Never saw one and their Habitats i saw always look the same like Habitats for sloth. Thats why I thought they could be a WTE animal.

Dream Final Pack:

1. Hamadryas Baboon or Gelada (PRIMATE)
2. Black Howler Monkey or Geoffroy's Spider Monkey or Guianan Squirrel Monkey (PRIMATE)
3. Golden Lion Tamarin or Marmoset or White-faced Saki (PRIMATE)
4. Muskox or Domestic Yak (UNGULATE large)
5. Kirk's Dik-dik or Southern Pudu or Reeves's Muntjac or Javan Chevrotain or Duiker Species (UNGULATE small)
6. South American Coati (CARNIVORIAN)
7. Tree Kangaroo (MARSUPIAL)
8. Secretarybird or Marabou or Grey Crowned Crane or Southern Ground-hornbill (African BIRD)
9. Scarlet Ibis (South American BIRD)
10. Mandarin Duck or Mallard Duck (Asian BIRD / Duck Species)

+2 exhibit
  • Central Bearded Dragon or Uromastyx species (LIZARD)
  • Black Mamba or Reticulated Python or Emerald Tree Boa (SNAKE)

Shoebill
Secretary bird
Mandria duck
Markhor
Tree kangaroo
Walrus
Yellow marten
Musk ox
Ibis
Speculated bear
Coati
Spider monkey

After watching the frontier unlocked video I am hopeful for at least 2 more packs. And have a feeling the next pack will be some sort of South/Central/Latin/New World Pack if it's not the last.

With that said IF this were to be the last pack I would personally like to see a "Fan Favorites" type pack to make many people happy. I would love if it had 17 habitat animals (1 for each DLC) and at least two exhibit animals. I think this would included several of the top META Wishlists wants but also fluff up some other areas that need attention cough South America cough and have a few odd picks.

Here's what I think would be a good line up, even If I personally don't care for some of them:

Habitat Animals
  • Secretary Bird (Representing the Grasslands Pack. Native to Africa. Endangered. Would be our first Bird of Prey. Can probably be created using existing rigs.)
  • Patagonian Mara (Representing the Deluxe Upgrade Pack because this animal is unique and very common in zoos. Native to South America adding some much needed diversity. Near Threatened. Would most likely require a new rig.)
  • Black Howler Monkey (Representing the Tropical Pack. Native to South America. Our second New World Monkey. Near Threatened. Can probably be created using existing rigs.)
  • South American Coati or White-Nosed Coati (Representing the South America Pack. Both are native to South America with the White-Nosed Coati also being native to North & Central America. Least Concern. Can probably be created using existing rigs.)
  • Goodfellow's Tree-Kangaroo (Representing the Oceania Pack. Native to New Guinea. Endangered. Would most likely require a new rig.)
  • Hamadryas Baboon (Representing the Arid Pack. Native to Africa and the Arabian Arabian Peninsula. Least Concern. Can probably be created using existing rigs.)
  • Arctic Hare (Representing the Arctic Pack. Native to the Arctic Tundra of North America. Would be out first lagomorph. Least Concern. Would most likely require a new rig.)
  • Short-Beaked Echidna (Representing the Australia Pack. Would complete representation of the Monotremes. Least Concern. Would most likely require a new rig.)
  • Great White Pelican (Representing the Aquatic Pack. Breeds in Europe, Asia, & Africa. Another bird! Least Concern. Can probably be created using existing rigs.)
  • Southern Red Muntjac (Representing the Southeast Asia Pack. An alternative to the Reeve's Muntjac which I personally want and couldn't fit in another spot. Least Concern. Can probably be created using existing rigs.)
  • Grey Crowned Crane (Representing the Africa Pack. More Bird! Endangered. Can probably be created using existing rigs.)
  • Virginia Opossum (Representing the North America Pack. Native to North and Central America. North America's only marsupial. Least Concern. Would most likely require a new rig.)
  • Alpine Chamois (Representing the Europe Pack. Least Concern. Can probably be created using existing rigs.)
  • Mandarin Duck (Representing the Wetlands Pack. Native to Asia. Least Concern. Can probably be created using existing rigs.)
  • Ringtail (Representing the Twilight Pack. Native to North America. Least Concern. Can probably be created using existing rigs.)
  • Pallas's Cat (Representing the Eurasia Pack. Native to the Europe and Asia. Least Concern. Can probably be created using existing rigs.)
  • Nene (Representing the Conservation Pack. Endemic to the Hawaiian Islands. Another waterfowl! Near Threatened. Can probably be created using existing rigs.)
Exhibit Animals
  • Panther Chameleon
  • King Cobra
But if you want to know right now what I'd personally would want not caring about any theme:
  1. Nene
  2. Secretary Bird
  3. Burrowing Owl
  4. Reeve's Muntjac
  5. White-Tailed Deer
  6. Grey Fox
  7. Coyote
  8. Serval
  9. Virginia Opossum
  10. Ringtail
  11. Patagonia Mara
  12. Leaf Cutter Ants (Exhibit)
  13. Piranha (Exhibit)
  14. Scarlet & Blue and Gold Macaws (Walkthrough)
