.. In favour of an estimate such as 210 T is that the Anaconda is similar in being lighter than the heaviest medium combat vessels, matching the Chieftain at 400 T and well within all other Alliance vessels, all Federal vessels and the Python 2.
Anaconda has nonsense hull mass, in context with basically all other ships Frontier has since created. It's hull mass should be ignored when comparing as no other ship really shares the same ratio between hull mass and FSD size (hull mass isn't so much the thing, it's the mass vs FSD size). It's an exception and trying to use it for comparison is just pointless.
Note that the DBX is a small ship with a class 5 FSD which is the only reason it has the range it does; all other small ships have a class 4 (or smaller). So it too, basically, is an exception. If the dolphin had a class 5 FSD, for example it'd be a little monster range wise. Equally, if the DBX had a class 4 FSD, it's range would be less than dolphin (which is quite a bit lighter).
The problem with trying to approach ships in Elite with any form of logic, is that basically almost none of them, actually follow any consistent logic.

I would like the FSD size and hull mass ratio such that the Mandalay can hit (at least) 90LY+ with engineering otherwise Frontier is ostensibly (imho) wasting everyone's time with a ship they will go on to sell for real money (ARX) when the Anaconda is already at that point, with DBX and Krait Phantom being able to hit ~80LY and ~73LY respectively.
It does seem like current-Frontier likes to build ships that have a bit more value proposition than they did in the past (which is good, given they are going the real money route) and I'd very much welcome them to continue that trend. If they feel like sprucing up the existing ships a little bit, that'd be pretty neat as well.
