Māori Kiwi Names

there is one small suggestion I'd like to put forward, and it concerns the representation of Kiwi names in the game. Currently, the Kiwi names in the game seem to be using the Australian name list. While I understand that New Zealand and Australia are geographically close, they each have their unique cultures and identities. Therefore, it would be highly appreciated if Planet Zoo could make a small yet meaningful adjustment by introducing a separate list of Māori names specifically for Kiwis.
Māori culture is an integral part of New Zealand's heritage, and incorporating Māori names for Kiwi animals in the game would not only be more accurate but also a beautiful nod to the rich cultural diversity of the region. It would help players like me feel more connected to the virtual world you've created and add an extra layer of authenticity to the Kiwi enclosures.

Anyway, FULL support for this. What an utter travesty. I haven't had the chance to use the kiwi yet, otherwise I would have noticed and posted this myself.

I posted on the reddit sub about it this morning, someone linked this thread. Glad to see others are as annoyed as I was. I literally bought the pack for the kiwis and the rage I saw at seeing their australian names was unbelievable. I dont think non nzers really understand.

I don't know much about Maori culture, much less names. Would it be similar to Hawaiian names and culture? I'm genuinely asking, since I'm not that good with history and culture in general, except an amateur interest in Mesoamerican civilization

Alright, mod is up on the Nexus (obviously can't link it here) that allows for the North Island Brown Kiwi and Little Penguin to pull from Maori names.
It's not a Frontier perfect solution, but it works.

100% suppprt for this. I may be wrong as a non-NZ, but aren't these birds always given Maori names and seen as special to the Maori people?

In the same sense that Spanish and French names are similar. They have a common origin but diverged long ago.

Just wanted to jump in and say I support this. Not sure if the ir culturally significant or anything but it'd be cool if the penguin had this aswell so it wouldn't just be on one animal. Maybe it could even have a 50/50 chance between Aussie and Maori names.
