Material gathering for engineers?

Ok you already got the best methods for encoded and manufactured.

For Raw, fly to the Koli Discii Anaconda. Don't drive around. Just shoot the one cargo rack near the ship, collect and relog. In about one hour you have your G5 materials filled. Some G4 as well. Use material traders for everything else.

Really?

Everything.
Well, everything raw.

When they had the vote to decide where to send a weekly ferry?
@Speedcuffs suggested HIP 36601
And frankly they were on the money.
You could spend 2 play sessions a month out there and never run out of Raw mats.
As much premium ammo as you can eat.

Look the link is right there ^^

Sounds great!

Some strategies...

Always carry collector limpets and collect everything left after combat, or be prepared to scoop manually.

Scan ships whenever entering and leaving a station, and in supercruise when possible. (It used to be the case that DWEs could only be got from wake scanning; now you can trade for them instead).

Drop in on biological or geological surface sites and collect phloems or crystal clusters, which are always the planet's G5 materials.

Get allied and choose missions which give G5 materials. Some missions give x5 materials/data, usually biotechs, exquisites or MEFs.

Submit and fight pirates rather than running. Delivery missions of precious cargoes from extraction systems can attract pirates which drop G5 materials when destroyed.

Use traders to even out your stocks, but only to prevent filling up or to get materials you need, not for complete levelling. They don't give good exchange rates.

Drop in on high-grade signals and maybe encoded ones when they're nearby.
