Who is who in this analogy, are the (specific section of ) pvpers the ones demanding the tide change or is it the pveers who are blind to the tide coming in as FD inevitably see the light?.
Us pveers have had to sacrifice so much already for the MMO part of the game as it stands (the BGS). I really hope it gets no worse and tbh I do not think it will

Nope - You obviously do not understand the terms you are referring to nor the context.
All players share the same universe - and the effects of every players in-game actions across every platform, instance and timezone affect the same BGS.
Pew-pews just don't instance with enough victims to satisfy their pew-pew craving, and I find that hilarious.
I remember one guy - in an attempt to be network clever - mushed his setup to such a degree that I literally spent an hour on skype with him setting it all back up - just because google and an admin password does not a network engineer make.

Indeed - and some things are less likely (given what Frontier has actually said) than others.
He can't hear you above his own noise, a thread gets locked due to bad behaviour, another springs up in its place, with the same voices proclaiming the death of PG/Solo and the game being Open only. Obviously said loud voices fear having to just fight among thenselves as 'killing' a heavily engineered combat build takes so much longer than blowing up a trader or explorer build.
Said voices also appear to have a lack of understanding of English, no matter how simply it is phrased - may it be better to ask then "what part of NO don't you understand?"
Everything in ED is for everyone, regardless of which mode(s) they play - it is why we all play - we do it our way! (I won't try to force my way on anyone - why should I?)

I think thats a great way to put it.
Apparently you don't think it's so "great" if you're still spending your time trying to advocate for a lost cause, considering Frontier has in no way validated your wishes so far.
PPOO may be on the table... (which remains to be seen) but the BGS never was, and never will be.

I hope that OOPP does go ahead - but in a manner whereby Powerplay does not affect the BGS (but can be affected by the BGS - and players engaged in Powerplay could, like any other player, affect the BGS to further their Power).
