Mercenaries of Mikunn - The Background Simulation and Colonization Test

Thats how we think it is. I have the suspicion the background simulator weighs the importance of individual missions (when it comes to NPC vs NPC Faction war) by players way lower then the things the npc are doing.

I'm ok with that but we're not playing an accurate simulator of intergalactic politics and intrigue. If actions of over 70 people that happen each and every day can't produce any impact whatsoever in a game then I guess we have a problem. And I really don't think it's a bug anymore. I think they just didn't finish the background simulator because they didn't expect someone to try and do that.
I don't have a problem if they didn't finish it, but I think it would be ok from them to tell us - guys take it easy, it will be done soon and then you can try and flip it. Or I could be wrong and they could explain how we should do the thing we're trying to do properly.
Anything is better than silence.

What we are attacking is probably only the visible part of the trading simulation. Maybe for each destroyed NPC there are 5 trade (example) transaction that are only "electronic" and have no appereance in the "real" universe and that number is tied to the current economic and millitary status of a faction. The you can destroy NPC and trade until you are dead. Not much will change.

then the claims that the players can affect economies and universe were false? I think it's high time someone from the dev team steps up and explains the situation for us because we can trade our thoughts for the next year or so but the real mechanism will still be a black box to us.

True but sometimes it helps to speculate. Keeps the brain at work, so we dont plaster the forum with ad hominem attacs against the DEVS and get banned and evicted from the game :p

Is really annoying we don't get a single word about all this and they let us 'waste time'. An other group of us got an other system to civil unrest state but influence still stuck cold as hell with upward blue arrow for the main faction.

People is getting discouraged after weeks of slow or no-progress by the situation and no words don't help. 'Ticket it, maybe it's bugged' it's simply not enough, sure someone can tell us what is going on.

We've already been speculating for weeks. Speculating they haven't finished the game isn't banworthy. In fact, if they ban our group for speculating that, not only do we have our answer, but they will have a lot of irritated players on their hands who aren't even in our group.

MAybe expansion for a small fraction like the Dukes is only possible through the slow aquisition and build up of systems that have no or very small populations. Taking on the well developed faction in HR 7327 might be a bit to much. Even if people pound away at the target system it doesnt make much difference in the bigger picture for the background simulation! Because its 2000 vs Millions. Its perhabs more about economic power and numbers than indiviual missions.
Unfortunately on my side it is the other way around... my ally has 10 milllion people and the other system has 1435 people... still no progress my faction has lots of ships in both systems ...

They don't seem like the type of people to do this though.

I will be making a polite post on Monday to bring attention to our problems. I seriously doubt I will get banned, especially with the other stuff they let people get away with in here. They are actually very lenient.

I'm tentatively going to report some possible changes:

The Dukes are no longer in Expansion (although Expansion is still pending), and now have pending Boom status with a blue arrow. Not seen this before so I hope this is something new. Relogged a couple of times and it's still the same.

EDIT: Wasn't the population 1,200 before?

Very good catch! The boom critical is new; however no pop change, see Mikunn'iverse post I linked to. According to the early dev discussion archive, booms result in a population increase. So lets push that.

I think this is a result of the second effect of missions being taken into account now according to the 1.04 fixes. This does not mean the influence percentage is no longer stuck. So dont get your hopes up.

civil unrest and lockdown pending states dissapeared from DC, in HR, also, mikkun is clear, no pending or current states. I'm confus -_-

That just happened to me but I reloaded the game and they came back so I think it's just a display bug.
