Mercenaries of Mikunn - The Background Simulation and Colonization Test

Holy cow, we're close! I think they must have fixed something.

We're already higher than the other factions, so theoretically we could trigger a civil war even if it's not with Dynamics.

I don't think anything has really changed. Since switching over to attacking Dynamic Commodities assets, things have turned around. For the past 3 days, we have gained 2.3% points on Dynamic Commodities every day. We should surpass them tomorrow. Not sure how long until we trigger Civil War.

I gotta say, I love your graphs. They should implement something similar for every system. Let players check on the history of influence if they're in the system or perhaps if they had visited it.

Tonight I've destroyed about 12 ships of all factions but Mikunn in HR. If there is somebody wondering how much time passes between breaking your space window around HR A1 planet and parking in hangar at Spassky Station, it's 4min. and 57 seconds :D

The cause could still be suspended influence by Mysteron, possibly having found more interesting hunting grounds.

Maybe, but I still don't think he had a major effect on influence. We're a lot more organized and numerous. I don't think a single player can disrupt the efforts of a team of people. Even if he had help, they still shouldn't be able to hold all of us off.

I'm pretty sure that he has worked out an angle to raise influence beyond what we expect should be possible with regular actions and probably beyond what was intended by the devs. Now either that was fixed and/or he's moved on. As there were no specific announcements by Michael Brooks regarding identified bugs and applied fixes that coincide with our good streak right now I do consider it a loss of interest by Mysteron which could still be turned back against us, possibly with a new announcement of a ten-fold increase of his gold demands.

He is defiantly still hunting in HR there has been quite a few of us targeting Dynamic assets in the area. he must be mitigating our efforts somewhat but our numbers and quantities are so large that they overwhelm the effort he is able to put in.

Anyone actually witnessed what he has been up to hands-on? From game-play influence mechanics he should be limited to clearing out pirates / wanted ships, missions and trading. I would think that killing pirates and wanted ships is probably a big influence, in turn countered by our focus on reducing authority vessels.

From my observations of influence changes to date (assuming no other states are active, or civil war cooldowns present), when one faction surpasses another faction's influence their influence values will automatically be equalised, as in the image I've linked above.

You'll note that Faction B's influence was increased simply to ensure that it's equal with Faction A. I know you might think that other people traded with or supported Faction B to increase their influence for that day but that's not the case. You'll notice that the upward trend for Faction A continues, resulting in a shared decrease for all other factions. (This has been observed in several other systems)

This brings me to HR 7327, Dukues of Mikuun (34.4%) have overtaken HR 7327 Dymanics Commodities (31.9%) today. Yesterday's values were:
Dukes (33.2%)
HR Dynamics (34.2)

I expected influence values to equalise and "civil war critical" to appear as a pending state but this is not the case. Maybe this is because the only option available to expanding factions is "War".

War – Triggered by and invading minor faction reaching a high enough influence level. Decreases standard of living, wealth and security for the system while active. Influence changes only apply to the involved parties and are only applied from combat missions or actions.

However, this does not explain the pending "civil war critical" state that appeared for the Dukes in previous weeks. This implies that civil wars are possible for expanding factions.

Anywho, we have activities in another system involving an expanding faction and we're close to equalising influence levels with a faction controlling a station. We might be able to confirm similar results to HR 7327 in the next few days if all goes according to plan. There may or may not be a bug relating to expanding factions, we'll never know for sure until we can make observations in several systems and replicate the results consistently :)

Just when we think we learn something about the background simulation's mechanics, something unexpected happens and it forces us to re-evaluate our assumptions or makes us even more confused and frustrated due to inconsistencies caused by bugs! :)

Since we know that something is broken with influence gains via missions, I decided to go to Sukua and see if I can raise the Purple Legal Industry faction there within the same system as a test.

Results after 2 Days of running trade missions are I am Allied with Purple Legal Industry and have made 2.5 million in credits, and they did not gain any additional influence within Sukua.

No. Mysteron was fighting hard against us.

I know what he was doing, and I developed our new strategy to counter-act it. It worked.

He was bounty hunting in RES's

Well Dynamic still has boom critical and we have expansion critical. Im working against ya Copper :). I trade and run an occasional mission for Sukua Enoblement and constitution party kawate. Most Duke missions give plus influence with those two factions also.

expansion critical? that means, we might get another System to expand into. Yeah!

In theory Yeah but actually it means a split of where we focus. Any other system will be easier to access . No more long rides to the stations. But splitting efforts would just make things much more complicated.
