I see this as a big positive for Bethesda. The quality of their games and CEO has dropped dramatically over the years and anything to pull them out of this funk sounds good to me.
Microsoft games used to always be top quality. They rarely pumped out buggy or bad games.

Tentatively encouraged. Bethesda's own releases (as opposed to their published stuff like Doom) have been very much so-so for a while.

As someone who worked in large scale web services for almost 20 years now, I can confirm you're absolutely spot on. Linux is excellent for servers, and web servers in particular.
That being said, I use windows at home
It's also what pretty much every supercomputer in the world runs on. Just look at the latest top500 (https://www.top500.org/statistics/list/) and sort by OS. Then there are embedded devices, etc. Gaming is the only thing I use Windows for (it's a big one, mind).
