Update crashed while halfway. Upon restarting I enter main menu, nothing downloads but no option works either. Resetting does nothing. Let's try this again.

Update crashed while halfway. Upon restarting I enter main menu, nothing downloads but no option works either. Resetting does nothing. Let's try this again.
Happened to me too, relaunched it and after it checked for updates it started downloading the rest. Guess it will be a bumpy first few weeks.
edit: I remember having entered some screen like "options" -> "content" and there it detected there were mandatory packages missing, after that I restarted and it detected the missing stuff when checking fog updates, then it restarted downloading.

Perhaps, but they have a lot on their plate right now I expect, so I'll forgive this.
A bigger deal though is that having paid for the Premium Deluxe on Steam, only the Standard content is actually available. Looks like many others are in the same boat. I hope that one gets sorted ASAP.
Edit: The devs are on the case.

Yep, looks like a back-end issue at Microsoft's end. Keep your proof of purchase emails just in-case. Bit of a hefty ball to drop on release day, but I'm sure they'll get it sorted today. Plenty of other things to keep occupied with. It's going to be a long day of home working whilst trying not to fire it up and play.
Edit: Just can't leave well enough alone... update from the devs on this issue.
Saying "it may take up to a few more hours" kinda confirms that it's a Microsoft issue, and they're probably waiting for Seattle to wake up.

Almost everything in the sim is DLC. Once they release the SDK (not ready yet
) to the masses, there will literally be thousands of mods you can add. Statistically, the default human is an asian female, so they're not far off really.That seems odd, having fuel mixture set to rich is standard for takeoff. Does it only stall if you control the mixture manually?

It's obviously doing "something", but the bar isn't moving and it's not downloading anything. Is this the decompression stage people are talking about? Sure would be nice if there was more feedback than a non-moving bar.
ps - I'm running it in administrator mode based on suggestions found on Google..

I found that it actually doesn't do anything at this stage, you'll have to end the task and try again until you get a window saying to update the game.
I've already done this once - how many tries does it take? Also, how long do I wait until I give up and try again?

I installed it twice; the first time it crashed halfway but until then it just gave a download percentage. The second time it constantly mentioned 'downloading fileX', 'decompressing fileX' et cetera. Weird.

Sorry to say it, but the answer is obviously as many as it takes. Maybe it does something for you, but when I had this and checked my network connection there was no traffic at all.
Crashed for me once around 1 third. Then on the second attempt it downloaded the rest and it showed the file being downloaded and percentage like Ian Skippy said. Then is said download complete, clicked to proceed, then it seems to hang for a minute or two, then screen went blank and another loading blue progress bar appeared.
Finally done! Now I have towait another 6 hours work until 6pm so I can finally start flying spend the rest of the day customizing options and controls so I can finally fly go to bed because it's 2am 4am already!

Anyone using the Logitech X52 Pro and managed to get ailerons, elevator and throttle working? It worked in alpha/beta! I can set the ailerons to 'Joystick-R-Axis-X' and it shows as sitting in the midway point once assigned (and saved - F11!) but moving the stick doesn't move the bar in settings and it is the same for elevators and throttle. Rudder pedals are fine and working as expected... Other button assignments are working on the X52 - flaps up/down, gear, trim up/down - just not the X & Y axes... :-(
I get the "Press any key" followed by a quick "Updating" and then the screen I took a shot of, no other feedback, no progress. Are you telling me I need to delete the installer and redownload it from Steam to make it work?
EDIT - It FINALLY started working after who knows how many attempts. Anybody who gripes about ED and their "broken" launcher but gives this nonsense a free pass is silly. Well anyway, fingers crossed!

I will try once again without failures, as I wouldn't rule it was an engine failure right off the start...?
That is what I had to do when it crashed. I managed to get into the main menu with what was downloaded, but everything was greyed out. Only a full uninstall and re-install works so far. Almost done now.
