Mini Zoo Building Contest!

My project isn't too big. I only built an enclosure for my Kiwis. It's the first time I tried building a completely covered habitat, and I'm glad I chose a small-sized species. It was quite a challenge. My problem is the enclosure is only fully dark at night, I think maybe the thatch roof isn't perfectly opaque? I have three pictures right now, but if I need to add any extra angle, just let me know :)

And this is how it looked like without the roof, you can see I moved it to the left:

You could add flat pieces between the thatch to make a ceiling. The shadows will help making it seem darker, in theory. Plus, it'd make the building more enclosed, so to speak

It sounds like it could be worth trying. I considered that, but it would interfere with the cabbage tree in the middle. But maybe I could choose a smaller plant for the middle section

Since I probably wont be here to present tomorrow morning I'll post my submission now. A lot of you have probably already seen my current project on the What did you do in PZ thread, but I've finished the Australian Night House in Oakwood Zoo. This house alongside our Penguin Complex, is the Oceania sections star attraction housing 3 incredible species, the Tasmanian devil, Kiwi, and Burrowing Cockroach.

Instead of doing a tour I'm just gonna do a photo dump since the house is pretty easy to navigate on its own.

Unfortunately not, the file got corrupted and is gone for good.
But i caved in and restarted the zoo, so ill be back for the next round
I'm sorry to hear about that! But it's great that you started a new zoo and you can enjoy the game again!

Wow, Charlie, what a fantastic creation! It looks gorgeous and so realistic! Have you even made custom billboards? That's awesome!

I feel quite shy to show my project now, but let's do it. I updated the Kiwi house, added a ceiling, and a few details. I'm unsure if I like the ceiling that much, but it seems to work with darkening the interior.

Looking from above, the building is located between my staff facilities and dingos (temporarily African Wild Dogs)

My vote also goes to CharlieXGaming. I'm just utterly impressed with the details and realism of this creation! It feels like a real place. And certainly a zoo I would love to visit! 🤩

The screenshots of Abigenius' creations also look very beautiful. All those amazing animals! And aww, the fantastic spotted pronghorns, I love them! They look great in their habitat.

Thank you for inviting us to this building contest, Orkan. I believe I learned quite a lot, and it's inspiring to see all the results.

I think I made a choice. After seeing @abigenius build, I have to go with his.

Chuck, you have the most realistic build, and Annie, yours is super nice as well.

But in the case of Abi, I feel like he put the most heart into it (not saying the other 2 didn't put any heart into their zoos, but I think Abi gave the most)
