Thanks. Yes, and a lot of patience indeed.
It actually is really good for my focus.

Sounds and looks really epic, but I don't know anyone who plays that.
Try seeing if there's a TTG store in your area.

I was so adamant to get into TTG that i now travel to a different city just to play. Worth it because the friends you will make will be awesome people.

Something non-topic related. But just wanted to share something new I tried.
Below is my cabin in the snow painting.

Maybe one day I'll be the new Van Gogh. 🎨

Luuknoord, I'm gobsmacked at your prolific model work. Thanks so much for sharing. As a kid I would start building models and never finish them. Like most men of my age I'm revisiting some of those lost hobbies from my youth and started to build again (I figure it is cheaper than buying a sports car). I bought myself a ship kit (Airfix Illustrious) back in late 2011 ... and finally finished it earlier this year. Better late than never. And the next (Airfix Type 45) I finished in a "mere" six months ... so I am improving a bit. Here they are:

Now with being at home a lot recently I am cracking on with a few more - a Trumpeter Type 23 and three submarines. I will see if my productive burst continues or burns out.

Lovely! Awesome work. i love attention to detail and design.

I am a dollshouse miniaturist myself but love anything miniature.

...

Your work is amazing - those pictures didn't even look like miniatures. What an eye for detail!

Thanks for your addition. I havent done much recently in regards of model kits. This reminds me they are still waiting for me! 👍😃

Ps. Really nice ships. My daily job involves Maritime & Offshore. So i always like seeing those!

It's been years, scrub that , decades, since I last did any models and this video puts me off getting back into it...

A lot of that resonated :) When he mentioned about 1/350 aircraft I winced ... I only had to do 16 for the Lusty kit but I almost lost my mind doing the detail on them- a rEaLlY rElAxInG hObBy 🤪 That's why I don't think I will ever do one of the larger CV kits ... the thought of doing the air wing gives me the jitters.

Update:

Been working on some more projects recently. The heli was a gift from a colleague, which I enjoyed building a lot. The end result is great if I may say myself.

I've also build the Benetton B194 Formula 1 car of 1994. In this case I made the Jos Verstappen version (of course), so his car can join the collection of Max's cars.

Also included is a overview of the current collection.

Yes I did this when I was 7 years old.
I was explaining that because I experience these physical models and lego and books I still associate them when I see the virtual representation. But there is a whole generation that never experience this.

I love modelling, but struggle so much with painting.

How do you get yours to look like that?

The painting was probably the single reason why I rarely finished models as a kid. Either there was a lot of it or I was never satisfied with the finish. I am probably marginal OCD when it comes to this particular aspect of model making.

The Illustrious kit was the last one that I painted solely by hand. It is the biggest kit I have ever attempted and it took me so long because I would get to a point where I just couldn't face doing more and more painting. So it would go back in the cupboard for a few more months or years before I mustered up the enthusiasm to continue. I got the kit in September 2011 and I only finished it earlier this year. The amount of time spent is 100% due to the painting effort (especially the fiddly little aircraft).

After applying decals I applied a clear coat varnish from a spray can (for the military ships I usually use a matt/flat finish) - it has the double benefit of hiding some of the unevenness from the brush marks and protecting the paint and decals a bit.

I finally invested in an airbrush last year. The Type 45 was the first kit I used it on and while it has made a big difference in terms of painting effort I had a lot of problems arising from my unfamiliarity with the new tool. Things like uneven paint finish, paint getting lifted by masking tape etc. That model is probably 50% airbrush/50% by hand, again with the varnish at the end to try to even it all out (although this time I applied it by airbrush rather than a spray can). Nevertheless, I finished the model in 6 months which is a massive improvement on 9 years!

That kit gave a me a real crash course; I learned the importance of properly priming the surface, figuring out the better brands of masking tape, learning about mixing paint/thinner/flow improver to get better results out of the airbrush. I still have an awful lot to learn but I feel a lot more confident with it.

The Duke frigate kit that I started a couple of months ago is in its final stages. Because of everything I learned from the Type 45 this kit has come together much quicker and required much, much fewer paint "redos". It is almost entirely airbrushed apart from little touch ups by brush for joins and where the sprue has been cut from parts. I hope to finish it in the coming weeks, when I do I will post it and the three subs that I built alongside it. After that ... I might take a break. Although I still have more kits waiting in the cupboard to be started :)

Thought I would share this kit RC model I made and painted. The back section I brazed together and made the sand ladders also. As well as other custom parts such as hand made brackets to hold the front double suspension.
it has a two speed gear box and primarily a crawler.
enjoy...

oh yes. Notice in the second pic the bungee’s? ... hair bands and paperclips 🎉🥳
