The problem with 3rd party tools/websites is that they are not synced real time with the game. All are at least slightly running behind the time of the game. If it changes in game then third paties are charged afterwards, not at the same time.

EDDB syncs within seconds of you landing at a station if you're using EDMC. Inara does take a little longer sometimes though.

Yeh, but still running behind. IMO Only real way to be sure as can be is to have the 3rd parties tools available and running in game and in sync to not have them waiting for game states to change. But even that couldn't take into account that if a Carrier owner was to change landing privaledges from open to private to their Carrier in the time it takes for another player to check 3rd party tools about landing privaledges and then try to land on said Carrier.

I made the same mistake trying to rank up with Alioth Independents. I've ended up dropping into a platinum hotspot and mining for both. I've done three trips so far (1 more should do it); making about 25 mill on the platinum (per trip) and the mission is only 16 mill. And I don't even need the rank anymore, got allied with the sale of the platinum

Mining missions are best when you already have the commodities in hand or have a reliable source. It's risky to take on a high ranking mining mission as a novice miner.
