[INDEPENDENT] Misfits of Science - rogue scientist unite

It's a steep learning curve but using the ds4 should make it easier IMHO. First thing to do is the tutorials and learn those buttons. Maybe rebind a few if they don't work for you, honestly having landing gear and boost on the same button is a recipe for disaster. Then blast out of the station in that Sidey and go wild.

The tutorials really are pretty good at explaining the basics, so don't worry too much.

Ain't that the truth. Until I had my Hotas I could not land at all. Mouse and keyboard are my bane.

There are plenty of dent marks on the back of stations with my name on them :)

Alrighty then, well I apologise in advance for my incompetence! I'm not hugely experienced with space sim games as deep as ED but I'm committed to learning the ropes, I have a total of 6 weeks off this summer so hopefully I can play catch up to some degree :)

don't worry i don't how to fly either, but i know enough lore and history to help out with any mysteries

Don't think we didn't do our fair share of crashing and inept flying when we first started :)

Ahah thanks guys, yep the first thing I do in any game is rebind controls to my liking and I feel like that's going to be quite the undertaking in the case of ED, but I'll definitely bear in mind keeping those landing gear and boost buttons as far away as physically possible; they're going to be issued a restraining order of at least an inch or two!
Just one more question, are SRVs and planetary surface scanners accessible to new players? I'm definitely very attracted to the idea of planetary exploration, but maybe I should stick to sightseeing out in space to start with :p

Well I suppose that does explain the obscene number of GIFs in which experienced players inexplicably flip out and explode right next to a landing dock

Yep that's me - My one and only Plat :) HZR is awesome, can't wait for the Frozen Wastes DLC

Yep it's definitely my favourite game on PS4 (at least until ED hehe), I never heard many people make a big fuss about Horizon's story but for me that was the absolute highlight! It was just so ingenious in it's pacing and the acting was fantastic in my opinion, it'll stay with me forever :)

Oh wow and I notice Acidburn has the plat in No Man's Sky, that's a tough one! It's a shame that game got such bad press just because of the insane hype, it's really a pretty incredible achievement for such a small team

unfortunately i have the shame of having the platinium trophy for NMS, *hangs head in shame* only took a week to get as well

Just noticed your comment ahah, I wouldn't be ashamed, NMS was a pretty great experience at least for the first few hours, if you ignore its awkward jankiness and the overblown hate for the game :p
