Mode switch change? Same exact mission list for me

some people enjoy what others find tedious, and your Harmless CMDRs with very expensive ships = somehow abusing the system could be correct but you're lumping a whole lot of innocent into the accused bunch.

A combat rank of Harmless gives no indication of a player's trade or exploration ranks - simply that the player has not destroyed very many ships.

Everyone should play the game as they want (if that includes exploits that aren't punishable I am fine with it), but those players should not complain when they loose their precious Cutter because they never learned how to play, also they should not complain about grinding just because they decided to skip 95% of the gameplay...

mostly agree with the sentiment but you left out one huge distinction and exaggerate quite a bit,

1. I don't care what profession or play style - if you lose your ship, shouldn't complain unless it was actual, specific game function bug that led to loss of ship.

2. You left out huge distinction between traders who know "how to play" as traders quite well vs implying traders who don't have good combat skills = somehow "never learned how to play". A good trader needs to learn game economics, how to plot safe efficient jump routes, and how to escape interdictions to protect his cargo. That is it.

if they lose their cutter as you say due to lack of any of the above, I agree and and have no sympathy to complaining. If the trader routed through risky area, or never learned escape interdiction tactics because they took short cuts on way to cutter, that is their problem. But you seem to be lumping a whole lot more into what you imply "they never learned how to play"

3. Claiming 95% of gameplay skipped because someone sticks to one primary profession is quite a huge exaggeration.

I generally agree with you, when I said 'skipped 95% of the gameplay' or 'never learned how to play' I didn't mean regular traders, but people who didn't do anything but Robigo mission stacking, which is not really trading.

My be I'm just bugged but until yesterday, mode switching to check mission board - between open and solo - would give me a different mission list, as long as the session timed had run its course.

e.g. Land somewhere new in solo -> check mission board -> grab missions -> switch to open -> check mission board, different missions available -> grab missions -> wait up to 10-11 min max for session timer

today, switching between modes produced the exact same mission board - literally exact same mission list or partial list if I grabbed some already in one mode. The session timer still refreshes both boards, but I can no longer check different modes, it is now always synchronized and same.

anyone else notice or see this change?

*perhaps matters or perhaps not, but currently way out so can't check bubble systems, am seeing this change out at sothis / CEOS while running local salvage missions for mats.

If they fixed it - great! I know Frontier did not consider that as an exploit, but to me it was a misuse of the game function (not to be confused with game mechanics). Didn't really bother me that much, but it created a lot of bad stuff, for example Robigo and "fix the interdictions" storm on the forums, where people stacked gazzilion of missions by mode switching and then were constantly interdicted due to the amount of NPC's sent after them (because of how many missions they've stacked)... It was bad for the community and the game as whole IMHO.

Thats exactly what I was saying. My reply was to point that fact out to post which implied otherwise

ah, got it. Yea, that infinite cargo via taking mission but dumping all mission cargo to rebuy at destination end and still turn in mission was pretty lame.

thst people made YouTube videos of the infinite stacking was even lamer. Glad FD fixed it so fast, though as noted there were apparently people who made billion+ in those 3 weeks or so before patch

It took a whole day, but just saw logging on this morning the severs are rotating for me again, which is good.

all day yesterday for some unknown reason every time I checked as another poster noted - the server ID was always same when switching modes. This morning it is finally rotating again randomly as normal.

if it was FD just testing something for later permanent patch, or seeing how it affected long range missions at the outer bubble stations I was at, again I won't mind, doing local missions while waiting for mission board refresh allows getting engineering mission rewards anways.

Yes the problem is when people use those loop hole then expect the game to be balanced to the imbalance they have created for themselves.
That is when it starts to effect me
