Module swapping gone?

I'm not sure the local tuneup place would be OK with you pulling into their bay and using their tools to change your own oil, regardless of your qualifications...

Maybe your character is capable of lifting a 128 ton frameshift drive himself, though, I don't know what sort of steroids there are in the future.

It's only 0.1 G in a station. :)
0 G on an outpost.

This sort of thing happens all the time in real life.
Only yesterday I took the TomTom out of my car so my sister could use it.

When she came round we looked on the table and it was gone!

Hold on, 13 pages, can someone tell me what the official stance on this turned out to be as I see peoples stuff being restored.

Was it an accidental change or intentional?

Personally i'm fine if it was intentional. Leave the power, lose the modules, but in general, the ability to refit from the last ship was nice and useful, so will be happy if it was an accidental change that will be "fixed".

official stance was that it was just related to the server issues they had, so not intended. Neither is it an officially supported game mechanic to rebuy equip between ships.

From my support ticket response:

"Please excuse the delay. Instead of returning modules, our developer has created a tool for me to do it myself.

This means that should such problems occur in the future, it will be much quicker to restore modules lost to such problems. The 'bug' itself would still occur if the server reaches the same load as it did when this happened, however that should not happen any longer I am told."
