Here is the difference in a fanboy to a poster with an opinion of there own.
a fanboy defends anything wrong with the game no matter what.
non fanboy will at least post something constructive .
i asked a simple question ,thats all.and here i am defending my post about the lack of moons .

And here's the "I'm not wrong, I'm persecuted" manoeuvre...

Or perhaps i don,t have to answer to you at all.
Who put you in charge.
Fanboys.....lol

And here's the "I'm better than you anyway" manoeuvre. :p

This reminds me of that episode of the Simpsons where Mr Burns keeps telling that guy to cut his sideburns off without really knowing what sideburns are.

This post makes no sense in relation to the moons issue .please stay on topic and stop trolling.
Mods please. come on step in here and help.

Sooo the bodies in question are poorly named or incorrectly named ,maybe that needs to be sorted..
so this thread could be useful .And not trolling.

And here's the "I'm not wrong, I was misunderstood " manoeuvre.

Ok screw what I said before, I'll give this one more try to seriously answer your initial question..........SPANKSH

Are the moons missing? - No, they are simply not called moons.

Moons are just planets circling other planets, which is why they are called planets in Elite. The only moon, called "Moon" in Elite is Earths moon. But even the Moon is defined as planet. There are millions of planets circling other planets in Elite, therefor there are millions of moons.

So the planets in elite are in fact called moons ..ok.. got it ..thanks for clearing that up.....

Still on the "I'm not wrong, I'm persecuted" tack.

I didn't hijack the thread, I answered your post (post #2, remember?). You then sedgewayed into calling us fanboys.

Shall we conclude that there was a misunderstanding over how the game refers to moons as 'planets' and 'worlds' instead of moons? So that to the casual observer there appear to be no moons in the game? But that when you take into account the astronomical definition of moons as planets orbiting other planets, the game, according to that definition, contains many, many moons, even if the game itself does not refer to them as such?

There is nothing incorrectly named since moons are planets. When a planet is a moon, is a very loose definition, which is why this therm is not used.

You are clearly trolling since several people have already explained thoroughly, why your initial assumption is incorrect and you either ignored them completely or made fun of them. Furthermore you proceed to ridicule everything that is said in an attempt to annoy people. That's what we call trolling.

The definition is quite exact. I posted it earlier. You might even say that I explained it quite thoroughly and you ignored it completely.

It's not that hard.

It really isn't confusing at all.

1) Is it a planet?
if YES > next question
if NO > not a moon
2) Is it orbiting another planet?
if YES > It's a moon
if NO > not a moon

"I'm not wrong, you confused me"

seems easy enough .

So ...when is a planet not a planet.when a fanboy needs it to be a moon...is that about right.

I couldn't possibly comment. :D

A moon is a planet orbiting another planet. Astronomers say so. No fanboys were consulted as far as I know.
-
FWIW, I think it would have been more elegant if the ED system map referred to moons as such, but I don't think it's exactly a big deal. They're there.
