More control of my ship in hazardous environment

Whilst trying to supercharge my FSD, i came too close to the star causing my ship to be in a hazardous environment, damaging every single component of my ship. The stupid thing is, I tried to activate supercruise before too much damage happened but the damned ship wouldn't align with the escape vector, and could I control the ship to steer it toward the escape vector? NO!!!!!!!
How about giving us some damned control! We have more control escaping an interdictor than we do escaping a hazardous environment. Surely the thrusters account for something
u were in a jet-cone... with plenty of control...
welcome to ELITE: SAFE... where is that bobblehead?

Depends on the star and the ship. Some have bigger more violent cones that'll just make you press self destruct in a DBZ.

Since when are exclusion zones for neutron stars properly drawn in the UI btw?

zoom x6 portrays it on radar...

Never used the radar for that actually. I'm talking about that orange line in the middle below. Why do you need to drop your noze below that horizon for it to show?

Forum Search for "escape white dwarf". This comes up a lot, people escape, lots to learn.
Sounds like a search I need to do. I was with the OP up to this point, figured it was basically 5 minutes of utterly futile struggle and typically self destruct these days to get it over with.

I livestreamed 3 of these the other day... simple escape really... idk what OP's problem is...

I think if you tryed a different star where you didnt have to plow thru the jet it might have been easier. Understandable in the panic to just pick the first one you see but its the panic that kills people.

All three ships escaped the cone here:

You really have to be extremely close to the exclusion zone for escape to be impossible.

I have jumped off WD before but its not sometihng i would go out of my way to do again. But like in the youtube when i charge even off a neutron i go into the jet right at the end :)

Rather than increasing his skill to beat the danger he wants to danger reduced to match his current skill level.

Maybe a jet cone boosting tutorial would help new pilots, then they could try different methods and practice escaping without losing credits.
