I've just discovered a possible explanation for what's happening with the lighting. When being asked to display colours together often computers take a square root of an average value and then later square it for display.. this leads to an incorrect brightness value as the values being compared need to be first squared and then averaged before being square rooted and then later squared for the display.
@sallymorganmoore please could you show this video to someone in the lighting department as they might understand it better and it could be the cause of some of these problems we are seeing. I don't pretend to know as much as they do, but if it helps, it helps.
