Newcomer / Intro Moving Your Stored ships from starport A in system A to Starport B in system B

I would like to here opinions about this matter actually since I want to carry my ships as I explore new systems instead of using just one ship for exploration and leave all others behind in a starport.

1st. Can you actually do this? I mean can you change ship storage location? Maybe it is not possible since the game spawned you to a specific location when we started. Maybe players must store all there ships in there home system (mine is Aiabiko for e.g.)

2nd. Suppose that it is possible, there are two ways to accomplish this that come into my mind:
1st: Move your 1st ship to system B, and store it, buy a stock sidewinder, go to your initial system A, sell sidewinder, get 2nd ship, go to system B, buy sw, etc..
This has some drawbacks:
1) Time consuming
2) jump distances between systems must be less then max jump distance of stock sw, else you need FSD upgrade of stock sw, hence money
3) Destination system must have N-1 sws available to buy where N=Number of ships you want to transfer
Benefits: you keep your upgrades to your ships

2nd way: You sell all your ships apart from one. You go to your desired system and re-buy your ships and any upgrades you may have done on your sold ships.
Advantage: Much faster
Disadvantages:
1. You must make sure all your ships are actually available to buy and at the same or lower price, at your destination
2. The same applies for the upgrades/outfitting

I am open to opinions and suggestions :)

I think they're still planning on introducing an option to ferry your stored ships to your current location (for a price).

Yeah, right now the taxi option (#2) is the easiest way to do it. That's one reason why I've tended to buy most of my ships in the same system.

They've talked about adding some options in the future to help with this, but nothing definite yet.

Yeah, the option to move your stored ships for a price is one that has been talked about in the past. No ETA on implementation or even definite word on whether or not it's still a planned feature. Personally when relocating I use the 1st DIY method you describe, buy a stock sidewinder, strip it down for best jump range, use that to get to my stored ship and then sell it.

The lack of parked ship transport is a pain. In my opinion it makes multiple ship ownership into a broken feature and I have ticketed it as such. If enough people do that perhaps it will move up the list!

This is not a matter that warrants a ticket. Tickets are for game bugs, hangs and crashes i.e. for game features that are implemented but are not working as intended.
This could have been posted somewhere in the gameplay and features thread. Actually I should have posted this there. I hope it doesn't go unnoticed here.

To be honest it makes sense. If you think real world: You own 2 cars and they are both in your garage in point A, you drive one from point A to point B. Now you have one car in one location and one in another if you now want to get your second car to point B and don't want to take your first back there you will either need to get somebody to drive it there for you, use public transport to get to point A again to go and pick it up or pay somebody to put it on a truck and transport it.

I'm not sure if there is anywhere to put suggestions for in game features, but the only way I could see it working is for larger stations to offer a "ship transport" service. This would be at a cost that would depend on the size of the ship to be transported and the distance between point A and point B. There would also need to be a time delay involved as it will take some time for the transport ship to travel from A to B and again this time would be dependent on distance.

Couldn't have been said any better! My thoughts exactly!

And ... you get to choose if you want to insure the transport, or risk it being blown up by pesky pirates.
Which could open up a revenge type mission, hunting down the evildoer and ultimately blowing him up, only to find that his second cousin took offence, gathered a bunch of rowdy characters and came after you! ...

Oh the potential :)

And you think calling for ticket spam, swamping FD support to press your opinion on them is a constructive move?
