Multi crew mining payout question

Hi,

Me and my son were doing some multi-crew mining yesterday (Horizons non-beta - I can fly straight and he can fire the purple laser beams) and we could see the galatic avg price of silver, gold, funny-named-things being quite high (7k-9k per ton) so assumed we'd get around 50k profit for the little that we'd got.

When the mulit-crew session was completed we each got around 7k instead.

My only thought for a reason for this is that I'd bought some fuel and restocked before selling cargo and ending the multi-crew session - does that get factored into the multi-crew payout price?

In the closest station which was Invergary, Delkar (https://eddb.io/station/3863). The sell screen was saying 50K for X amount of something (I've forgotten what it was, possibly Praseodymium) when I was selling but the multi-crew report said we received only 7K. On my son's screen, selling something showing 50K would end up as 5K on his screen or something pitiful like that.

I'm just asking if this is how multi crew mining is supposed to payout?

If it is I'd quite like to be able to define my own multi crew properties so that any profit is split 50/50 - I was under the impression that mining would be 100% profit.
