Murder

Will need to see, running tests now but the biggest problem I have currently is that the Superpower bounties override the local bounties.

So murder a Fed faction ship, you are wanted with ALL Fed factions.

So I took a little stroll down Murder lane to see how things went. Naturally didn't come very far but the little I've discovered is interesting.

Tests were conducted in a System ruled by an Independent MF.

Went into a Weapons Fire detected (Threat 1) USS. Some Novice Viper Mk.4 and a Mostly Harmless wanted ship (don't remember the type).

Shooting at the Security ship granted me the initial 300 credits fine plus the timer being started (0m 40s).

Here's the amount of bounties I got on my head before they blew it away:

1st kill (Viper Mk.4): 7k
2nd kill (Anaconda): 42k
3rd kill (Eagle): 150k
4th kill (Eagle): 329k

Also the moment they had my shields down my FSD was immediately targeted and destroyed.

Mind you these were just regular Security troops coming into the instance. A more heavily engineered ship would've probably lasted way longer, but also accumulate a much bigger amount of bounties. Which in turn would mean the ATR ships would spawn faster.

So I went back (same System) and visited the local Nav Beacon. Things went like this:

1st kill (Hauler): 579k (Timer: 1m 30s started)
2nd kill (DBS): 901k
3rd kill (Anaconda): 1.3mil
4th kill (Cobra Mk.3): 1.8mil
5th kill (Viper Mk.4): 2.3mil
6th kill (Anaconda): 2.9mil (ATR Timer: 1m started)

So 10 ship kills gets you up to almost 10mil bounty which then will trigger the ATRs on top of every other Security that'll be on your rear everywhere you go within the jurisdiction of the MF.

And every destroyed vessel after those will reduce the amount needed to trigger the ATRs until it's down to only 1 kill to make them say hello.

:p

Oh happy day :)

From someone who has endured daily murders for... well forever!

Now let's see how much whine FD gets served by certain people on this topic and how much they'll listen and tone it down in the real game. I'd rather have them increase it the more complaints come in though :p

Last but not least - with the big bounty on your head, the Bounty hunters will respond to that too. So much attention from all sides ;)

I agree.

I'd like the see the ATRs just about indestructable and be capable of disabling a ship initially - take out weapons, drives that sort of thing.... leaving a reboot and high wake option.

I am for these strong ATR. Sick of people farming system authority ships and destroying easily weeks of work without consequences.

Or doubling the distance of where they're put into Detention. From my System test I was sent 71.22ly away, which isn't really a distance.

Just been around in the Beta a bit, and...folks, if they keep the ATR and the way things are handled all the way to the regular game, Murder is a thing of the past. Unless naturally you have a buckload of cash to pay off all those destroyed ships of yours.

ATR is never going to shoot down any of my combat ships.

Which is correct if you're high-waking out fast enough. When I ended my last test I've had a Elite Bounty hunter, several high-ranked Security and roughly 6 ATRs in the same instance with me before they completely wiped me off.

They go for your Shield Generator first, the FSD second, and lastly you.

Yes... it should be balanced to say the time effectiveness (BGS -wise) of bounty hunting. I think a new thread to discuss the BGS effects/needs may be in order... onto it.

I need to make more tests, but I tanked influence in a system 15% with 10 minutes of murder in Beta.

I need to test this more thuroughly, but it looks too strong now.

I'd be surprised if the effect is changed, its the ability to require the need for a huge effort to negate it.... as in counteract 200 murders

Did you pull the clean ships out of supercruise or attack them at a nav beacon?

Mostly interdicted from sc but I did also visit the nav beacon twice when I wasn't finding clean ships from the right faction in sc. I didn't note how many of the 10 ships I killed were from the nav beacon but it was probably between 2 and 4.

In the past I've also used RES sites to find murder victims when they were present in the system.
