Sadly, join the club... Sorry...

Has been confirmed, so an upvote could help:

Add your experience to the confirmed issue, and hope your zoo could be salvaged in the near future.. :(
But tbh, I think you need to accept your zoo might be lost.. Looking at the $ and amount of animals, really a tough loss!!

I made a ticket to Frontier support, which was answered yesterday:
This will generally indicate that the save file has become corrupt and as much as I wish there was something we could offer, we've not had any luck getting these to run ourselves :(

If you could include any information as to what you were last doing before the save failed to load, including any crashes or disconnections you experienced, that would be a huge help!

I don't remember mine, but if you do.... please add it to the issue

Yeah.. I've noticed a increase in those posts in the last 2 weeks...

I know a lot of people don't have this issue but something triggered this corruption and basically messes up your entire game.

Damn that sucks! :( It's a constant fear of mine too, that my zoo will stop working :(
I don't get it though, how does so many zoo's get corrupt? What is even causing it, never heard of this problem in other games :O

Been plenty of other games that have had corrupted save file issues over the years. I've been gaming for a very, very long time and I've seen it crop up with various games over the years.
Fortunately it's only actually happened to me once, with one game. That experience led to me being very compulsive about making save backups...all the time. For Planet Zoo I just use Game Backup Manager and let it make a backup every time I exit the game, but for some games I am so compulsive that I run a batch file that makes backups every hour while I'm playing.

Another example of a very recently released AAA game that has had this issue is Borderlands 3. Massive save corruption and save loss issues for some people over the month or so after release. Both were happening. Some people were having saves wiped (they were just gone) and others having them corrupted (couldn't be loaded).

Same Problem. Happend after the new patch/dlc came out...it just wouldnt load so i tried so back up my saves and deleted the newer ones. An older save worked and I only lost 10minutes of gameplay. Today i got the same endless loading screen again...this time none of the older saves work.

I just want to relax and enjoy my zoo. Honestly depending on how Frontier handles these issues this will be my first and last game from them.

Do you use some special program to save them? I'm getting really paranoid about loosing my zoo too, since I've seen it happen to lots of people here. I just save the game every 10 min or so and create a new save file in the game every other days. Can I save the files in a different way to make it even safer?

I use a program called "Game Backup Monitor" and set it to keep 5 backups for most games. It runs in the windows taskbar and automatically makes a backup each time you exit a game. By setting it to keep 5, I always have my 5 most recent "exits" of the game preserved.
The program is free, very easy to set up for all games (just have to locate the save directory) and seems to have very little impact on system performance. Been using it for years. I linked to its home page in the first sentence of this post if you want to check it out.

still seeing new posts about this problem its GROWING...
Not sure it is 'growing' it is something which happens on patches. These must be something that was in certain zoos which the new patch really doesnt like. That doesnt excuse the issue though, for me this should be the biggest thing they should be trying to fix. The sad news is, even if they fix it for future patches, does not mean it will fix historic issue.

I love this game but would be very upset if I couldnt access my zoo. Infact I am going to find an historic save file and put it somewhere just incase.

Lost my first franchise zoo from release day last night. The Animal Trade Market became unresponsive, followed by me being unable to see what animals I already had in my Trade Center to place anywhere getting only a "try and reopen window" error. Then the zoo is like it's dead.

I really wish they would have gotten the Franchise mode server or whatever fixed by now.

(Edit to fix a just-noticed typo)
