They are easy enough; especially if it is on top of the tank; like the O,P. is. That is basically, a big nut and the new one, comes with a new seal. 30 minutes, tops.
Nice, mine; $2k with install for 50gal unit. Staggering. RL is expensive right now.

It's basically like a big kettle element in a water tank. In the OP's picture you can see the top of one as fitted to a water tank with foam insulation jacket.. It's a way of getting hot water if your heating system isn't set up to heat water.
