Halo and Borderlands are too bullet spongy.
That's a matter of opinion. Borderlands and Halo have both sold very well and received good reviews, so the mere presence of 'bullet sponginess' isn't enough to call an FPS bad.

Apart from personal preference, the context of the rest of the game mechanics have to be considered. Without a doubt BL has an RPG structure, where a high TTK is basically mandatory to distinguish gear score. That's a matter of opinion. Max, this discussion is about the on-foot part of EDO, which basically what EDO is all about (but that is not the point). So, please, go ahead and explain to us the most complex career of EDOs on-foot content.Do you mean just the expansion. If so, why see it as a silo when it's not a singular entity. It's an expansion to an existing game, not separate game in its own right.
Of course the answer is relevant, as you taking a minor part of an overall game and trying to call it a FPS and comparing to games that only do First person shooting.
Sure, but isn't Odyssey essentially an RPG?Apart from personal preference, the context of the rest of the game mechanics have to be considered. Without a doubt BL has an RPG structure, where a high TTK is basically mandatory to distinguish gear score.

I am inclined to agree. I think it is out of place given all the lore and backstory. I think it is unnecessary and a cheap way to make Engineers work.Sure, but isn't Odyssey essentially an RPG?
On foot, yes, but not First Person Shooter. I have no wish for FDev to concentrate on novelty stuff FPS stuff, which in my opinion, won't improve it that much. There are other areas that would be much better to add or enhance that would make on foot gameplay better. Shooting is only a part of the on foot stuff you can do.Max, this discussion is about the on-foot part of EDO, which basically what EDO is all about (but that is not the point). You are correct, the Increased Melee Damage mod is in the game for a reason. I expect one of the first major updates to be focused on improving the hand-to-hand combat and provide melee weapons as the first expansion of the on-foot inventory. On foot, yes, but not First Person Shooter.
