I have to agree with you here. I have used it a couple of times when nothing else worked but I wasn't proud of myself for doing it. I haven't used it, or needed to, since I fitted the two Large Burst turrets.

Thats a lot of weapons groupings. I'm gonna try a go with 5 PA's later just for fun. I expect a repair bill to pay.

My preferred weapons load now is the two large turreted burst on top, 1 large beam and 2 medium PAs.

That is my loadout for multipurpose, missions, bounty hunting, pirating (exchanging fuel scoop for collector limpets) etc. and I love it. It is not fully A speced but it's not money issue, it's a choice I made.

Python is not that sluggish as you think, I choosed the best performance to weight ratio components to slim it down. Yes I got D rated shield generator with 2 shield boost but it's still 440 mj... I run two shield banks at the same time (grade 5 + 3) and it will recharge it from 0 to 100%. I got 2 pairs giving me 6 shots and still have enough power using just 6A plant.

What is the benefit? I can boost to 350 and feels pretty manoeuvrable, would you face me with your turrets I would chaff indefinitely and be on your tail. It is a killing machine for PVE (I swap fixed for gimballed). Not tried serious PvP though but I think It wouldn't be that bad either. Have decent 128 cargo space and it cost just 110 mln, 5,5mln insurance.

Think 2 beam lasers and 3 multi cannons are better... a little test. One thing I noticed, changing fuel tank doesnt affect speed etc. a bit strange.
