PvP my pvp experience

Its definitely a thing, I saw accusations and mockery of people running away during 1 v 1.
I have been in fights where we fight for 20 min and they wake with 15% hull. Lame.

NPCs do it! Must be the way it is meant to be played. (I mean the ones that interdict you and when you get the better of them, they hi-wake)

He is just salty because his build is so out of wack his ships can't follow when a more rounded ship uses there own gear to make the sensible option. I wouldn't mind but for the hypocrisy that they give traders for flying without shields when this is just the same. 1 player has tools to stay alive and uses them. Simples.
You have some organised PvP shinanegans then what ever police that as you will but the person in question was specific he meant anyone daring to escape their guns not some agreed PvP event

I think this is getting blown out of proportion.

Senario 1.

Mad Mike is flying around in super cruise at a CG in his FDL. He decides to interdict Sovapid who is flying around in super cruise in his pvp fit clipper. Sovapid starts to win the fight (unlikely, I know, this is just a hypothetical) and Mad Mike high wakes away because Sovapid's clipper is mass locking the fdl.

Sovapid sends Mad Mike some ribbing in chat.

Senario 2.

Mad Mike is flying his Type 7 full of biowaste to a cargo CG. Sovapid is in his combat clipper a the same CG. Sovapid has also had too much to drink and is pulling traders because he tends to do dumb stuff after a bunch of beers. Sovapid completes interdiction and pulls Mad Mike out of super cruise. Being a pro, Mad Mike selects his high wake target, chaffs, drops a heat sink, and skillfully boosts back at the clipper narrowly avoiding a ram. Sovapid is forced to turn around to get some shots on the Type 7, but by this time Mad Mike's FSD cool down is over and he starts charging his FSD. The chaff has finally worn off, so Sovapid, the gimbal scrub, is finally able to land some shots on Mike, but it is too late because a high wake only takes 10 seconds. Mad Mike has safely avoided the interdiction.

In all the excitement Sovapid spilled his beer, allowing Mad Mike to jump into system and safely reach the station while Sovapid fetches a new frosty beverage. Fun was had by all and no one cares if a type 7 high wakes away from asymmetrical pvp. Thats what they should do.

Ufortunately you missed scenario 3, which is prevalent in some wellknown PvP circles:

Scenario 3

Mad Mike is flying his semi-engineered FdL back from a session of Bounty Hunting at a CG. Sovapid sees him and decides to interdict him. Mad Mike submits to the interdiction, and since he enjoys a bit of combat practice, he decides to face off sovapid, if just for a little bit. Mad Mike decides that he needs to start getting out at 1 1/2 rings of shields, and when that time comes he retracts his hardpoints, charges his FSD, all the while flying as evasive as he can. He sucessfully high wakes out to the nearest system, and waits a bit before going back and handing in his bounties.

Meanwhile, unbeknownst to Mad Mike, sovapid has made a meme out of the high wake and sits in his Discord with all his buddies flinging insults against Mad Mike and anyone else who dares to high-wake in a combat ship.

Unfortunately, that scenario is real.

Yeah, I'd say this is also true. But a lot more likely to happen if you are well known PVP'er. Someone just starting, less so.

If I highwaked in my PVP clipper, I wouldn't be surprised to see an image of it in a discord.

I'm struggling to think why hypothetical madmike would give a rats ...

High waking from 1 v 1 when you are about to loose after you have been actually fighting for some time is lame.

Well if its arranged then yea that is lame, and is why I have friends watching in the event a player attempts to wake... they don't often get out.

But if its just some dude that shows up and wants to shoot me then wakes when he gets low, then fine... its on me to remove his FSD.

I fix these issues like this, If the fight is not arranged I shoot the FSD out first.

If he is in a shield tank he will run when his shield is down, you cant snipe his fsd.

Anyway its not about the mechanics, if you have been fighting for last 10min and someone runs, it feels incomplete.

That's just in your head. You didn't see exploding pixels, so you feel unfulfilled. Well guess what, that's not the other cmdr's responsibility. They play the game they want, and if that's highwaking after 10 minutes, then that's their way and within game mechanics. So get over it, and stop making up silly "rules".

Yeah, if I've been in a fight for 20 minutes there is a decent chance I need to bale so I change my adult diaper.

Don't get old!

I recommend trying a smaller ship in the beginning, you do not need to worry about rebuys and small ships can be very deadly. I ran an AD Clipper out of Cubeo yesterday in my sidey actually. I recommend starting out with an Eagle. See this example https://youtu.be/8hEZwdvXGjM

Ship build is also in description.

(from CMDR "Z"):
Lol, Aisling guardians showed aggression again... Attacked my little peaceful ASP by 2x Wing with cops. Its a shame! :)

PS: Double shame: Aisling soldier using federal ship :)
