If, in the unlikely event I ever buy an Anaconda, I shall name it "Anaconda" in homage to The Sisters of Mercy![]()
Noob question - how do people see your ship's name if you don't have a name decal? Does it show up in comms alongside your CMDR name? Is it visible in HUD when a ship is targeted? Or is the name basically for the player who creates it?

Correct. And ship names, unlike Commander names, don't have to be unique, correct? There could be 1,000 ships named Enterprise, for example.
to be honest i want to steer clear of the usual sci fi names, they are usually so obvious it makes me cringe. i half expect to see cmdr han solo and his millennium falcon flying around day 1 lol

I know, ridiculous right? I have it nailed though: Cmdr James T Kirk and the Enterprise
oh please, i prefered commander Sheridan and the Excalibur from Babylon 5 lol
Thargoid ships do kinda remind me of Shadow ships...
I'm not telling anyone the names of my ships in case they copy my ideas!
Would 'SS Shorpe' be considered criminal?
