Abstract:

Despite our stance towards Xeno Peace, we acknowledge the ongoing brutality demonstrated by the Invasion Fleet. Our outgoing approach to Xeno Peace has been temporarily retracted due to the recent swift and unpredictable nature of Thargoid behavior. As we worked on finalizing the previous iteration of this statement, the Scythe's arrival completely contradicted our expectations. This document aims to explore four central subjects (in no particular order):

1. Azimuth Biotech's connection to the Wregoe region, through Holloway Bioscience.
2. The contrast between the Thargoid Nebula Fleet and the Thargoid Invasion Fleet,
3. The unusual presence of the Third Fleet in the Wregoe region.
4. The Invasion Fleet's growing interest in acquiring Escape Pods.

Commitment towards Evacuation:
The consequences of the Invasion Fleet's arrival have led to the loss, subjugation, or displacement of countless lives. To those impacted by the Proteus Wave's provocation, we stand beside you, not against you. Peace remains our goal, and its importance cannot be overstated. To reserve your suffering to a single sentence would be beyond disingenuous. YKE Technologies will initiate a series of routine evacuation operations within the affected regions upon the completion of our revitalization program. Our goal is to actively reduce the potential loss of life whilst avoiding xeno provocation, as we recognize platitudes and peaceful sentiments are not enough.

The sudden emergence of the Thargoid Scythe has strained the already fragile relationship between Humanity and the Thargoids. This abrupt change in the aggression of the Invasion Fleet, coupled with our limited understanding of their motives, has generated significant and valid mistrust even among those previously sympathetic to peaceful xeno interactions. Some remain unconvinced that this behavioral divergence indicates a true separation, consequently associating the Thargoid Scythe's aggressive abduction behavior with the relatively passive conduct of the Nebulae & Wregoe Fleet. Although we maintain our confidence in this divergence, such doubt is understandable. We do not have sufficient evidence to say for certain.

Here is What we Have Learned About the Nebulae Fleet:

  • Despite the evolving nature of the conflict in the Core Systems, the Nebula Fleet remains predominantly non-hostile unless provoked. All known Nebulae behavior aligns with CMDR Renia Rakowski’s encounter report on Galnet.
  • The Thargoid Scout remains the only variant that instigates conflict proactively in these regions. Lone Interceptors will not harm you IF you refrain from harming them. Scouts do not contain identifiable glyphs besides the core symbol associated with both fleets.
  • So far, there hasn't been a definitive differentiation found among the glyphs in either Fleet. If such a distinction between Fleets does exist, this indicates that the Glyph’s intended use might not be related to roles or ranks as we initially thought.
  • Hyperdictions appear to be more of an explorer’s nuisance rather than an imminent threat. Entirely passive unless provocation occurs.
  • Provocative actions include: Engaging your hardpoints against the Interceptor, Colliding with the Interceptor, Declining to eject stolen Thargoid Artifacts for the Interceptor, and declining to eject stolen Guardian Artifacts for the Interceptor.
  • It has been verified that an Interceptor will only try to ‘intimidate’ you into releasing Meta Alloys; they won't actually initiate an attack. Additionally, Nebulae Interceptors seem to disregard the existence of Escape Pods within your cargo hold, only collecting them if they are jettisoned. Further details on this will be discussed in the final bullet point.
  • In Nebulae hyperdictions, we've observed a consistent pattern where Nebulae Interceptors initiate a preemptive EMP before getting close to scan your vessel. This does not occur throughout Invasion territory to our knowledge.
  • Previously, this hyperdiction behavior was categorized as potentially aggressive, but we've identified a subtle element that challenges this perspective. Nebulae Interceptors will wait patiently for your ship to reboot before resuming their departure. Some of our pilots have even interpreted this as concern from the Interceptor in case you become stranded from the EMP. I find that perspective personally heart warming. If true, such behavior contrasts harshly with the Invasion Fleet’s brutality.
  • When you're in a Nebulae colony that encompasses both Humans and Xenos, there's a foolproof method to identify Non-Hostile interactions. When targeting Nonhuman Signal Sources (NHSS) in these areas, if the top-right information panel displays "None" for the linked faction, it signifies a hostile encounter one hundred percent of the time. Conversely, if the information panel specifies a corresponding Minor Faction with the NHSS, it ensures a Non-Hostile Interceptor encounter, without exception.
  • All Nebulae Interceptors unfortunately also engage in the collection of Escape Pods, prioritizing those that have been jettisoned or are floating independently. There have been no reported cases of passenger abductions by Interceptors, and our pilots have never encountered hostility when holding Escape pod cargo.

For these reasons, we are confident a clear distinction exists between the motives of the Invasion Fleet, the Wregoe and the Nebula Fleet. Anyone with a fuel scoop and a jump capable ship can confirm the validity of Commander Rakowski's recent report by engaging in similar non-hostile interactions within the well-known territories controlled by the Nebulae Fleet. Including but apparently not limited to: Coalsack, California, Pleiades, and Witch Head. This CMDR’s report even goes on to suggest that not every Thargoid vessel sees us as an enemy.

Azimuth Biotech's Involvement through Holloway Bioscience
Two days after the initial report, Galnet reported evidence of an ancient Thargoid-Guardian battleground located in Wregoe BU-Y b2-0. Two hundred years ago, the Azimuth Biochemicals ship Proteus stumbled upon the only comparable site in the Trapezium Sector YU-X c1-2 system. This ancient site was later rediscovered in 3307 by fellow Commanders. This will become important later. From the most recent article, we learn that The Holloway Bioscience Institute has mobilized teams to the Wregoe region to assess the potential for conducting xenoarchaeological investigations. This progression stirs notable apprehension due to the historical link between archaeological pursuits and escalating tensions in the Pleiades. While Dr. Jeong-Hui Shin has shared reasonable speculation on what could have happened, the primary focal point should rest on the institute's pronounced interest in the region. The recent corporate move by Azimuth Biotech solidifies their association with Holloway Bioscience. The undisclosed nature of the new agreement makes the situation even more significant to keep an eye on. We encourage all Commanders to monitor Galnet and ensure the integrity of Human-Xeno interactions. Consider the nature of our actions and how it may lead to provocation, conflict. We do not want more Maelstroms arriving.

Xeno Peace Potential
This particular Wregoe system was one of several systems under investigation following Commander Renia Rakowski's initial report, who encountered a passive Thargoid interceptor nearby in Wregoe GA-X B3-0. This non-hostile conclusion has particularly excited Xenologists at YKE Technologies, as this is verbatim the conclusion our research has produced in the Nebulae. This ‘Wregoe’ region however was never considered potential for interspecies relations on our charts. Timothy Culver, Bernadette Wells, and Dev Venkatesh are aligned with our perspective on scientific exploration within the Wregoe region. However, we must emphasize our stance that sending Naval forces into the region isn't advisable; rather, it should be activists and scientists who take the lead. This specific Fleet might perceive significant militarization in the area as a provocation, for reasons that are clear. Thankfully, AEGIS is wholly committed to information gathering and isn't privy to any anti-xeno deployments at this time. Could there be further concealed Pro Xeno Peace potential in regions that remain uncharted?

It's crucial to remember that both Thargoid Fleets have inhabited the galaxy for far longer than we have, and their motivations are so intricate to the point that even the brightest minds are unable to predict them. Azimuth’s Proteus Wave was the primary catalyst for the Invasion, and its purpose was to exterminate all Thargoid life regardless of Fleet association. Assuming that Humanity has comprehended it all within the last nine years would be genuinely naive.

It's also important to keep in mind that since our initial encounter with the Thargoids, tracing back to the First Thargoid War, the Superpowers have been involved in the unsettling practice of capturing and experimenting on them. When discussing ethical considerations, our history doesn't necessarily position us as morally superior when evaluating the conduct of the Invasion Fleet.

Concerns Regarding the Invasion Fleet's Brutality:
However, we are considering the possibility that their motives could be equally sinister, which contradicts the viewpoint shared by fellow Xeno Peace advocate Timothy Culver on Galnet.
We've identified Xenological Prison Pods, indicating that the Invasion Fleet is systematically confining apparently random Human subjects in organized prisons.
This is worrisome for Interspecies peace.

In addition to this troubling development, we've recently received reports from fellow CMDRs indicating that the Invasion Fleet has taken steps to establish a permanent presence within the affected regions. This development poses a significant challenge to any Humanitarian resistance efforts we might attempt. These particular systems remain consistently under Thargoid control, with a distinct feature being the presence of a Barnacle Matrix. This newly observed construct sets itself apart from any previously recorded xeno research data we possess. Further analysis is required.

The Counter-argument; The Discrepancy Exists, and Provocation is the Catalyst
Advocates for Xeno Peace, both former and current, argue that understanding the Thargoids' motivations, especially this recent behavioral shift between Nebulae, Wregoe and Core systems, could unlock a new era of intergalactic cooperation. Initiated to counter the Invasion, Humanity embarked on a mission to salvage Tissue samples. Now, the Thargoids have initiated their own campaign of tissue sampling. This sequence from provocation to escalation to adaptation is evident. However, their capacity for adaptation outpaces our own, as we cannot adjust as swiftly as they can. Acknowledging the Wregoe & Nebulae Fleet as more than mere observers allows us to explore peaceful interactions, scientific exchanges, and even potentially defensive insight.

Moreover, Human history has shown that peaceful solutions often lead to more sustainable outcomes than prolonged conflict. The undeniable devastation caused by the ongoing Second Thargoid War has halted competition in various industries, including ship manufacturing. Most importantly, millions of lives have been lost, entire star systems ravaged, and valuable resources reclaimed.

While skepticism and caution are natural due to the history of Human-Thargoid conflict, it's vital to contemplate the potential benefits of extending an olive branch to the Wregoe & Nebulae Fleets respectively. We now know the true nature of Thargoid conflict, and how ‘trivial’ the skirmishing was in the Nebulae prior to the Proteus Wave. These Fleets aren't here to hurt us and remain uninvolved with the Invasion Fleet's pursuits.

The Failure of the Kingfisher, How to Proceed
The first major Xeno Peace initiative was put together hastily, without much forethought, and as a result, it ultimately failed. Serving solely to secure a position for Dalton Chase in the Federal Congress. Whether there was an unintentional or intentional misdirection of the Kingfisher toward the Invasion Fleet, The Sovereign Newsfeed reported that Thargoid Artifacts were illegally transported onboard, triggering a hostile response from Taranis as it passed by. Establishing diplomatic channels between Humanity and the appropriate Fleet, in the correct manner, holds long-term promise for fostering better understanding of each other's intentions and history. To reiterate, this could even enhance our chances of survival against the Invasion Fleet within our home territories as well.

In Conclusion
In conclusion, we find ourselves without a definite conclusion. Interspecies Peace remains a top priority within YKE Technologies, and there remains a tangible path to pursue between the Nebulae Fleet and Wregoe Fleet. We will carry on enforcing our internal restrictions against Anti Xeno conflicts, including interactions with the Invasion Fleet. This approach ensures that scientists, pilots, and commanders within YKE Technologies can dedicate their efforts to the pursuit of Xeno Peace. This does not mean we will ignore, or become ignorant to the growing Humanitarian crisis created by the Invasion Fleet’s Scythe. Our vision of such an Interspecies future must evolve. A second iteration of the Kingfisher, with antennas directed towards the passive Nebulae fleet. No major breakthroughs or discoveries have been made yet by individual Commanders, but a discrepancy persists between Nebulae and Invasion behavior. The Proteus Wave has awakened something unprecedented, and we anticipate it will take years to fully understand the true nature of recent events.
