Need nerf chaff launcher.

In fact chaff launcher is an imbalance equipment in our game. It has 20 seconds of effect's time and cooldown smaller than effect's time. At the end we have 20*10=200 seconds of nonstop knock down aiming for gimbal and turret weapons. With engineers we have 300 seconds of this. And don't forget about the synthesis of ammo for chaffs. It make effect's time of chaffs endless during the fight. It's very long and it makes gimbal and turret weapons useless in pvp. Because of this situation 90% players use only fixeds and rockets in pvp. Is it very interesing game where 90% players use only 2 types of fixed weapons (plasma and rail guns) and rockets? I don't think so because this is a monotony gameplay created by disbalance.
May be developers add some changes for this equipment? I propose do 10 seconds of effect's time and cooldown for 40 seconds. After this player have 30 seconds for shooting and maneuvering and i sure that it will be balanced. If i made a mistake in the proposed parameters try to propose your version.

FAQ:

1. May be you will say: "Unlock the target!". Lol, and what? It will not help because not all weapons in this game can shoot in one point together. For example: you use fixed beam lasers and gimbal multi-cannons. These types of weapons can't shoot in one point because beam lasers instantly reaches the target and multi-cannons need to shoot ahead and your gimbal multi-cannons can't shoot and with locking the target and with unlocking the target. In this situation you lose damage from 50% types of weapons on your ship. It gives a huge advantage to the enemy with full fixed weapons. And don't forget about when you unlocking the target you can't target enemy modules which gives a decisive advantage to the enemy if he does not have the same problem. At the end full fixed player can shoot by all his weapons but you can't do this - it's not honestly and it's a disbalance.

2. May be you will say: "Learn how use fixed!". Lol, i know how use fixed weapons and i have 2 ships with fixed weapons. 1 of them has full fixed fit. You don't understand me. Problem is not about that need use fixed weapons versus chaff launchers, problem is about that chaffs have NONSTOP AND ENDLESS effect's time. For example: imagine that in DotA 2 the artefact Black king bar will has cooldown smaller than effect's time and you can't use directed skills on this player during all game and can only strike him by auto-attack. Don't you think the bkb would be a slightly dishonest artifact? =)

3. May be you will say: "With this nerf gimbals and turrets will be OP in pvp!". Lol, no. It will be balanced. Now fixed weapons are OP in pvp but you don't unhappy with this. Double standarts are not good.=)
Let's compare fixed and gimbal/turret weapons.
Pros of fixed weapons:
1) Have 20%+ more damage than gimbals and 80%+ more damage than turrets.
2) Have immune for chaff launchers.
3) Have immune for experimental effects with knocking down aiming (hello to meta builds with plasma accelerators).
4) Have immune for heatsink launchers.
5) Have immune for experimental effect termal vent (it can down your temperature by 99% degrees and knock down aiming for turrets and gimbals).
6) Have 4 lvl.
7) Have OP unique types: plasma accelerators and rail guns.
Cons of fixed weapons:
1) Have no auto-aiming.
Pros of the gimbal and turret weapons:
1) Have auto-aiming.
Cons of the gimbal and turret weapons:
1) Have smaller damage.
2) Have no immune for chaff launchers.
3) Have no immune for experimental effects with knocking down aiming (hello to meta builds with plasma accelerators).
4) Have no immune for heatsink launchers.
5) Have no immune for experimental effect termal vent (it can down your temperature by 99% degrees and knock down aiming for turrets and gimbals).
6) Turrets have no 4 lvl.
7) Have no OP unique types.
Are gimbals and turrets OP after understanding this? I don't think so.

4. May be you will say: "Pvp just for high skill players! Not for noobs! Spend many time for this game or GTFO!". Oh, this delusion of the maximalists from our game is extremely flawed. Don't forget about 4 things wich very main for all of us:
1) Time.
Not all people have so much time for training yourself for fighting with epic nolifers who spend 5-10 hours for this game every day and are on duty in the open mode for killing newbies. (No, no, reader! You are not a nolifer! You uped your pvp skills to the during level by 1 month and play not more than 1-2 hours every day! We all believe you! (Sarcasm)).
2) Dangerous of R.I.P. for this game.
This game has an extremely high entry threshold for pvp and has no any end-game content. In this situation the player will inevitably be bored and will inevitably be interested in pvp. It's no secret that most players leave the elite dangerous. This situation created from these 2 facts: no end-game content and they don't want overcome such a high threshold for entering pvp because only nolifers can overcome it. Don't forget this game is a commercial project. For all commercial projects very main that people don't leave their because with people leaving creators of commercial project will lose all money wich these people can spend. If 95%+ people will leave the commecial project than this project will close. And who will win after that? Nobody!
3) Empty open mode.
It's no secret that we have very small count of people who plays in the open mode. And from this small count we have even fewer people who have high pvp skills and can give you interesting fight. Is it very interesting game where you need spend months for seaching an interesting fight? I don't think so. If even newbie who have not more than 200 hours in this game can give me a decent fight even with turrets - i will be happy and it will breathe new life into the game!
4) Justice and modern trends.
Pixel hunting is a epic evil in the game industry because you need live in the game for compete with other players. When i bought this game nobody warned me that without spend very much time for training with pixel hunting i can't play pvp. Is it fair? I don't think so. I went through this but I don't see anything normal in it. I see normalcy when many people don't want to do this.

For haters: i create this theme not because i want kill all ships on my screen by 1 button (on practice it's impossible for all players) but for make elite dangerous greate game for all of us. Don't forget that we payd real money for this game. I think it's not bad if you will have some interest after it.

I like how you anticipated the discussion in your first post.
Saves time. I can ignore it right away.

Whatever your suggestion is, this kind of whining and offending people that know how to use the game better than you isn't going to help.

Honestly, in all the time you’ve spent railing against chaff you could have been getting some good practice in with fixed weapons, such as rail guns for example. I’m rubbish at combat but most of my fightin’ builds feature at least one rail gun, even if the rest of my hardpoints are gimballed. From a realism perspective I actually find the concept of fixed weapons in a space sim kinda daft, but it’s a game first and foremost and it’s a mechanic that allows console game pad scrubs like me to feel efficient at kablammo-ing NPCs while rewarding high-skill players so I’ve really no beef with it.

Complete the circle; spend a bit of time with a fixed hardpoint or two to keep the pressure on while the chaff is disrupting and before you know it someone else will be posting nerf fixed weapons NAOW! My chaff is useless! 😉

With cooldown chaff launcher will not be useless.

This is your second thread on the same subject.

I'll let the mods know this is a duplicate.

Its a bit early in the morning for walls of text, plus I followed your previous thread so thought I’d ignore it this time and jump straight to a condescending response 🤷‍♂️
1. If we will not read fully post we will have a conversation between a deaf and a dumb. Is it normal for you?
2. Forget that theme. I will not come there because there are non stop hate and 0 fact or logic. It's not interesting for me. And I will be there because developers in the ticket link to me this forum section and said that i will write here.

1. If we will not read fully post we will have a conversation between a deaf and a dumb. Is it normal for you?
Well we’ve had an entire other conversation in another thread about how to mitigate the effects of chaff, how to fight through it, attempting to demonstrate that it’s working as intended and probably doesn’t need fixing in the grand scheme of things. And yet, it would seem that someone isn’t listening...

You listed the cons of gimbal weapons as having no level 4 weapons - which I assume you mean huge hardpoints - when gimballed multicannons, the most commonly used weapon in the game by a long shot according to that survey yamiks did a while back, come in huge.

I don't know if there's a language barrier here but a lot of the points you make in this thread and the last are outright untrue.

Go ahead and waffle on about "facts and logic" or something again, your arguments have little basis in either.

How will you demonstrate that it’s working as intended and probably and doesn’t need fixing when we have 200+ seconds of nonstop effect's time? It looks ineteresting for me.
Please don't write "use fixed" 1873812368712638126871238 time.

As long as you pinky promise not to make another thread because no one else will agree with you.
1. If you want to be a spambot and repeat the same things endless - i just will ignore you. Sorry, i want speak with people and not with spambots.
2. No one will agree? Seriously? I had 4 likes at the first post in my first theme. Please stop be biased and ignoring the facts.

Now fixed weapons are OP in pvp but you don't unhappy with this.

Fixed weapons require more skill to use, so it's normal that they should be more powerful in the right hands. Gimbals are auto-aim, so yeah, they have a downside.

If anything I'd argue the damage buff fixed attrition weapons get over their gimballed counterparts isn't actually enough promote their use in PvE, the most efficient means of crunching through powerplants in combat zones being a full set of gimballed multicannons and a missile launcher to disable chaff.

Star Wars Squadrons only has two fully gimballed weapons, the usage of which is restricted to a specific ship type and the damage output is significantly lower, much lower than the equivalent gap in Elite... Because auto-aim is very powerful, and particularly in a PvP setting it needs to be balanced to promote enjoyable gameplay.

Edit: a fully gimballed multicannon FDL is still a more dangerous proposition than an unskilled plasma/rail user. I've seen players have a lot of success in PvP in gimbalships. Are they the most powerful option given high skill? No, nor should they be. You can compete with them but you need to accept a trade-off for... y'know... not having to aim.
