Neutron field location?

I think I've got a bit lost

Headed down from SagA* for about 1000LY and have found *some* neutron stars / black holes but nothing like the numbers I was expecting. Could someone (please) fire me a system name below the centre that I can head towards?

In the meantime I'll keep mapping these I've found (generally they're about 15-30 LY years apart)

Try this: VOQOO NX-R D5-931

Should be millions around there

Edit: Maybe these co-ordinates are closer to you: -1000, -1714, 26390 (I didn't note a system name unfortunately).

Edit2: Near those coords: PHROI PRA FT-G D11-54

Oh did I ever head in the wrong direction! That's 9KLY from me! It is however VERY good of you to let me know and it is also on the way back to civilisation, so doubly useful!

No problem, there are more than enough to go around

The fields extend many thousands of light years in the horizontal plane, not so much in the up'n'downy direction (technical term).

You can be really close to the dense fields (~3ly apart), not realise it and be grinding ones that are 15ly apart. Turn of all but non-main sequence on your galaxy map filter and have a local scoot around you might be closer than you think (although I'd like to find out in what direction you are 9klys out from those co-ords)

Presently lurking near 470, -638, 26,900

Just looked at the map and if I head back towards Sol there are about 30 per cube, so it might just be easier to head in that direction picking 'em up as I go. (and then use wiblflibl's first option as I get closer)

Thanks both - I used the first set of co-ordinates then lined up with my present location. I then kept the same height (plane) and headed back to my location marker. I found the start of the field about 2,500LY from me in the direction of Sol / civilisation. It goes from odds and sods to God's blackheads in the space of 10LY!

That's the one - I'm at about -1200,-1100, 22,300 so don't overlap my tail or overtake me

Also, try heading rimward a bit more - I went diagonally down and across from Sag A* and picked up the fields pretty much straight away.

Just on the outskirts now (and I mean RIGHT on the outskirts)

Good God.

It's just Black Holes and Neutron Stars as far as the eye can see - absolutely stunning to see. I'm not going to care if they're discovered or not, it's not worth the time to check, I'll just keep ploughing through for a thousand or so then start the long trip back.

I have to say, it really is quite mad in this field. I'm trying to stave off the boredom of the grind by adding in White Dwarfs and Carbon stars - and finding a few.

I think I'll get to a total of 2000 systems visited (that's total from starting, not this trip) and head back. I reckon I'll hit another 750-800 on the way back so it should get me closer to Elite status

I only plotted points through about 10k Ly of the neutron field and have only made it through about 200 systems. Are you all detail scanning each one as well as fog horning before moving on? I'm fighting the urge to head back early to get ready for Powerplay politics...

I honk everything, and always scan the main star - it's always undiscovered and either a Black Hole or Neutron Star. While the initial scan is happening I take a look at the system map. If there is anything interesting I go scan as well. I'll always scan stars that are near enough to do so without moving.
