Neutron jumping vs basic FSD jumping??

Super charging only damages the FSD module.

I look at it this way. How much Money will I lose by using Neutron jumping going point A to Point B

I will have 1700 system explored if I do not use Neutron jumping. Or have give or take 600 system scan if I use neutron jumping.

None. The neutron stars are worth far more than whatever dust you could scan in between (taking forever to do so).

I have to admit, I like to travel.
I even enjoy it more than reaching the goal.
Travelling itself is much more fun for me using NSboosts as it offers more variety and it feels like I am able to cover a greater distance, which in my case satisfies more than discos or income

How do Neutron stars work?
For the months and months I was interacting with them, the middle is hot and dangerous and the edge (jets) will supercharge you.
However, today (03/11/2017) for some reason when I did the supercharge, it kept my ship in the jet and I couldn't move out of it.
So eventually it destroy my ship with over 6 weeks of scanned data.
Under what condition(s), does the Neutron Star holds a ship until it's destroyed?
If there's none, was there a bug?

what kind of jet was it? a slow spin (relatively) and narrow? i have seen class n with what looks like solid wide cones they are spinning so fast. i wouldnt want to risk supercharging anyways but especially not in a wide fast spinning jet.

btw you do all know you can use white dwarf jets the same way right? (i tested this myself and it worked in my asp. so did my afmu thankfully)

The really fast spinning ones are actually less dangerous. Those jets go on a long way from the actual NS so you can enter them 5 or even 10 ls from the NS itself. The small wispy ones only exist for a short distance from the NS so there is more risk of accidentally hitting the exclusion zone. Either way, as long as you are heading away from the NS itself when entering the jet it seems safe enough.

WD jets aren't worth the effort as they only give a small boost.

@Crunchy_to_the_MAX did you drop out of supercruise? You shouldn't get any damage other than to the FSD whilst in SC.
