my humble guess is someone looked at the community work fdev was doing over all their titles and decided that it can be clipped on all fronts to save more money. why have multiple streams weekly for multiple games overall with a group of dedicated and talented cm, when you can have 1 stream monthly with 2 cm covering all of that overall...The thing is, each game's community is going to want the stream to be about their game. I don't know what the CM's job entails, but it would have been nicer to have a stream each Wednesday for a different game, Planet Coast one week, Planet Zoo another, Jurassic World Evolution another week again and Elite another week again, and loop back around. Is one stream a week too much for a community manager? I don't think it is, but I'm not them doing their job, so I'm sure they know better than me how much time they have and what their workload is.
As Fireytoad said (to me and others) it's better to have some news rather than none. Looking for positives here, Frontier said on Twitter we'll find out "exciting details on TWO upcoming games" so there is that. And some Elite news will be welcome, but I'm sure the doomsayers will still moan.
Personally, I'm hoping for Elite 40th anniversary news and plans.
if you were to make a shareholder appeasing decision (instead of playerbase appeasing one), would you make anything different? in the end shareholder oriented decisions is what has been driving this company to profits for the past years. right?

did other titles got their streams cut last year as well? as much as elite? (honestly dont know but i dont think so?) could the disenfrenchisement of the ed community have an impact on the decision to make the first 2024 stream include an ed 2024 roadmap? It should be noted that the Elite section of the forum, got a thread about the new stream ... and the others didn't, they have to make do with the general Frontier section thread.
See? SEE? It's not all doom and gloom.
