I'm on PC and got a lot of first discoveries. I think my name has never appeared on any of them.

New Discoveries are "validating"

I also went for a small trip outside bubble and the validating tag was on countless systems. I have never seen that in that rate before.
I wonder how many of the systems i have tagged now show validating or even nothing at all.
People should remember that way back, there was a period after an update if i remember correctly, that explo data where lost for those that didnt deliver in time and when people sold data, their cmdr name didnt appear on systems. Devs fixed it after some days (if it was fixed 100%). Who knows what a mess the database is every now and then.
Not everyone keeps notes or track of their discoveries and even if many people do, i m sure not many of them check each and every of their discoveries very often, so the mess will probably get bigger.

Does your name appear instantly when you open the system map? Or do you have to wait? I haven’t checked mine in a bit.To update this thread, all of my previous 'validating' discoveries now all have my name next to them.

Interestingly I submitted more cartographic data at another station and it all appeared instantly.
I went to check other systems I've discovered and they check out as mine, as far as I've seen. I appear to have used up all my bookmarks so couldn't check them all.
Alas, all I can say is good for you. Just went and made a handful of first discoveries and cashed them at Colonia less than 15 minutes later. Checked the system map. First discovered by: Validating. First mapped by: Validating.

Mine usually appear instantly but I haven't made a habit of checking, I will do so after this run but it may take a while so probably won't be useful to this discussion.
I landed on Mitterand's Hollow. Sort of crashed on it. I scanned it and sold the data.

Validating comes and goes. I discovered a 97 body system. Was selfish, so I even ran the DSS on all the bodies. Once I turned in the data, my xbox gamertag was placed in the system. A few months later, it went to "validating," a few months after that my gamertag was back.
But now it is all back to validating.

I have seen this too. It came, then it went - now all my tags are gone again. Maybe they’ll be back soon!

It definitely seems to be an intermittent fault. Right now it's 50/50 for me whenever I check.
