New FSS Feedback thread - Good and Bad

It also makes the FSS kinda pointless, as far as I can tell. Just honk from fire group or within FSS. MIght as well save some RSI (yup, I'm downing tools when I reach Explorer's Anchorage in some few more jumps, 'cos of that). Just might as well show all the bodies and let ppl investigate those flagged with what they care about, no?

Games - and this let us all remember is a game - should be enjoyable and respect our time.

Repetitive game mechanic loops should be enjoyable OR quick - think fetch quests with backstory/lore and a nice reward for completion.

I'm about to start my first long range exploration adventure so stumbled in to this thread as I didn't know what "Refining Scan.." meant. If the phrase "Loading" was used that would have been more clear as to the fact it's deciding what to be but doesn't know quite yet.

The Good:

It makes exploration an activity. You do something. You might do a lot of it, repeatedly, but the same can be said about any aspect of any game.

The Bad:

Space is still mostly empty and mostly filled with empty balls of ice. Not because of the FSS, it just gave me a reason to go see just how empty space is.

The Ugly:

The recent and useless change to add an adjective to the resolution indicator to fool those who believe they should be able to do in one hour, one day every other week what someone with 3-4 hours a night does in 3 months.
