New Game by Frontier

Michael Brookes

Game Director
When we are in a position to discuss more about the new coaster game we will of course provide a forum for doing so. At the moment, there's nothing to reveal, so the speculation thread is fine (for now).

I'm not sure by what metric you would consider RCT3 a failure. It's one of the top selling PC games of its time.

Good song by the way :)

Michael, from the beginning it would be best to do the RCT4 but apparently not going to happen:(.

You say you working on a game rollercoaster, but we want a game to build theme parks, no rollercoaster.

I hope the game is more real than RCT3 and above all it is to build theme parks with visitors.:)

And why not develop a Rollercoaster Tycoon 4?:S

I do not understand the fuss with Atari and Chris Sawyer, Atari is supposed to win with RCT3 180 million of dollars, Chris Sawyer and asks only 4.8 million dollars, Because Atari does not return the money he asks Chris?? The saga of RCT is Chris Sawyer, Chris make de Rollercoaster Tycoon 1 and 2, who became one of the best games in the world.

Conclusion, do not understand why Atari does not develop the RCT4 with Frontier and Chris participate in the development, but good to yourself, You are killing one of the best franchises in the world, that shame, Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 sold more than 11,000,000 million sales and after 8 years does not leave the 4 th delivery.

I find it shameful that in 2010 Atari ask for ideas in their forums for next Rollercoaster Tycoon for PC and now we come to a Rollercoaster Tycoon for the Nintendo 3DS. SHAMEFUL

I think that this new rollercoaster game could be good, because we could build rollercoasters and theme parks, so i am looking forward for more information about this game soon. :)

we're working hard on it.

Michael
Ok, thanks Michael. Frontier works hard in their games. So I hope this game wanting to play much and I think they'll release a great game.

Although we want a RCT4 and I also, Michael, We would be very happy if Frontier work with Atari in a RCT4.:)

Thanks for working in a game of roller coasters!!:D

Does the game have any rough estimate of completion like Q4 2013 ? etc

Nothing wrong in a guess estimation of when the first sneak peak images might appear :p ?

Then i can come visit the site again near that date!

I have one thing to say about this game, DON'T make it a Thrillville sequel. If it's not a thrillville sequel or something like Disneyland: Kinect Adventures or anything aimed at younger kids to be honest, you have my money already.

I want a Rollercoaster Tycoon 4 on PC, I want a game to build your theme park and that is realistic, Thrillville I not like it's all fantasy. Ah, and please I want the new game in Spanish and come out for PC, not only Kinect.

Thanks.

Why would they tell a rival company to make a rival game to hinder sales :S ? Have you ever studied business ?
Frontier is the developer of RCT3, Frontier would be nice to work with Atari in the RCT4, 8 years we have been waiting and what happens?

Perhaps the major problem is not Atari, the big problem is Chris Sawyer, because it gives me that Chris does not want to do RCT4 by legal problems.

What Atari would have to do is pay to Chris, because that is the main problem, for this reason we do not have the RCT4.

I think you don't know the history of RCT at all.

Atari did not pay Chris Sawyer the money they owed him. He sued them, and now doesn't want Atari to make any more because of their idiotic ways. The cause of the death of RCT is atari no one else.

Frontier developed it yes only because they were contracted to. So now frontier are not contracted to - they can make their own.

Given Atari merely publishes it- we don't need Atari in the frame and Chris Sawyer although owns the name - has no say in a game without the name.. thus everything is now in the control of Frontier.

If Atari make RCT4 it will not involve Frontier in anyway. And i doubt Frontier would even agree to do it now.

If not for Atari we would not have the RCT3, any company is interested in this game they say that the game has no future. So many thanks to Atari.

It is assumed that Atari paid to Chris or will do, Now Atari has made the RCT 3DS with N-Space, and the game puts Chris Sawyer 2012 so that problems have been solved with Chris.

Frontier will be chosen for the RCT4 because no company is interested in this game. Frontier is the creator of RCT3, Therefore, Atari will choose Frontier.

I remember you that Atari asked Ideas in 2010 of how we want the RCT4. ;)

You must be happy that we have the RCT 3DS.

RCT3d is a complete flop the amount of people who own a 3DS is very low its a novelty game that is all Atari does anymore due to lack of cash. And frontier are not working with Atari any more... don't just "guess" this stuff - read news reports more.

Just because they made RCT3 doesn't mean they will make RCT4 with Atari. If frontier were smart they would not work with Atari any more and i believe they already made that decision. Atari literally have very little cash, they can only afford small games on DS or novelty arcade games. If this was EA, it would be a different situation as EA are huge, Atari are small fish now.

Atari are just not a big player any more. Frontier are not working on RCT3D that should tell you something that Frontier are doing their own thing.

RCT3 would still have existed with or without Atari, if any thing it would still be alive if Atari didn't violate the contract and cause a law suit and loss of alot of profits - affectively losing any investment for an RCT4. Thus causing a longggg wait for any news on RCT4, which may not happen yet unless they can get enough cash to do so.

Please spend you're time reading business news before making guess work. Frontier are not associated with any thing RCT4 or Atari related. The end.

If Atari did not have money right now TDU2 had not released, it is a game it costs money to make. The RCT 3DS will have much success in sales and will attract many people to the saga. For example I'll buy the game.

Frontier work well with Atari to make RCT3 and would be nice to do the RCT4 with Atari. Sure, first if Chris Sawyer wants give rights.

Fronteir would be the perfect candidate to make the RCT4 with Atari. And do not be fooled, The RCT4 will be made when Atari has more money, that will be out of here 4 or 5 years.

If Atari had wanted had made the RCT4, because games iphone and TDU2 are making good money.;)

RCT would require mega funding compared to the racing game, RCT as you know is a BIG popular game.

But I don't think Frontier / Atari did work well together, i think there were problems between the companies alot of the time.

I don't doubt (or at least i HOPE) RCT4 will be made, but it won't be by Frontier.

And i believe Chris Sawyer has given them the rights to do it other wise the 3DS version would not be in the making.

Also no one can predict the 3DS version will succeed, based on popular opinion (given nearly ALL RCT players prefer PC) i don't think it went down to well then it changed platform.
