New Planet Tech is KILLER of Exploration (all terrain is tiling/repeating/not procedural/random)

Im far from there I bet and not gonna go there any soon. But its obvious that those guy just set graphics to LOW and trolling ppl hard.
You keep throwing that accusation out without any proof btw. I'm completely sure you're wrong.

I want to see Felicity's base - apples to apples.
I can pull my explo ship and go there for a screenshot if you want to. It's somewhat far away. So you'll have to wait for the krait to arrive. Everything max no ultra for capture, just let me know what I screenshot (ground,space....)

Yes, the ugly lod get removed around that height and you start loading the regular terrain. Still look like trash from above up to space.
Still look like a random generated terrain. And look at the lack of details, look at the hill thing middle left ? Texture stretching and random. That's all there is.

If they truly are lying and trolling (which I personally doubt), not only "shame on them", but Frontier could take them to court, assuming British courts follow similar consumer laws as American courts.

ANYONE want to disprove the video I posted by providing better-looking imagery from the locations in that video? I'm particularly interested in Farsee, because it's one of the most interesting bases in Horizons to me.

Something that mirrors the very poor images from that video. I want to get to the truth of this matter.

1) Are you filming at the same graphics settings? - Absolutely - HIGH on both systems.
2) How much VRAM do you have? - 2080Ti 11GB VRAM
3) Are you aware of anyone getting different results than you in these same locations? - Everyone I play with sees the same thing I am seeing.

Since all the landfall planets are generated the same way, expect repeating structures on all of them. I went to Deciat and found repetitions on Deciat 1, Deciat 2, Deciat 3, Deciat 4, and Deciat 5, before I stopped looking for more. They are everywhere. Sometimes they are more visible, sometimes less so. Sometimes they are mirrored. However, they are anything but rare.

With Horizons Detail FX 2.0 Reshade:

Thanks for sharing - This does show how much reshade adds to the shot - So much incredible "fake" detail is added as a result. The original picture, in my opinion, looks bad. The terrain looks like it was (is) generated by a height map and not by a natural (mathmatically) chaotic system.

No - the game is obviously very, very seriously broken and bad.
He doesn't seem to understand that
1/yes everything is in low settings and it shouldn't
2/the new planet generation doesn't generate the same quality terrain than we used to have
3/a lot of the pattern you see from above are fake, as you go down they disappear

Everytime we say that he go and cry "POTATO PC" and how we are all wrong.

Ok. Sooo. Look at this. LOW gfx preset and ULTRA gfx preset. See which one those guy is using in his vid? Not ultra for sure. View attachment 230781View attachment 230782
I play on high settings. My game looks like your bottom screenshot. And when you land your ship. The difference in the ground textures compared to Horizon are massive.

Both on HIGH:

Note though that this thread is about tiling textures. Not about the low texture fidelity. I realize you've started a bit of a vendetta on the subject :)
