I just wanted to add my disappointment to see this happening in the game.
If it’s not a simple mathematical issue and is indeed a hand crafted repeated tile system, then that’s a huge back step and frontier should really hang their heads in shame over it.
As people have said, why travel weeks of real time to see something that will probably appear in the bubble.
perhaps they need to explain more about the intended results of the new planetary tech. So far we can’t decide if it’s working correctly, buggy, designed poorly, or missing entirely...
“luckily” I can’t enjoy the game fully yet because of my hardware becoming outdated and Odyssey running like puke but knowing that even if I splurged big money upgrading that I’d be confronted with sights like this, doesn’t exactly make me want to rush out and sort it. Elite is the only game I really “play” on PC. I dabble in other games but in terms of planning to spend a whole afternoon/evening to play it, it’s only this game. I doubt I’ve ever spent so much on customisation for anything else (and that menu has gone off the rails now, completely unintelligible)
I really want the game to get better. Steps like this seem to be in the wrong direction. When making plans to release things like this, perhaps more consideration needs to be taken in making sure it’s actually finished and working properly and also making sure it is indeed an upgrade rather than a downgrade.
