New Planet Tech is KILLER of Exploration (all terrain is tiling/repeating/not procedural/random)

There obviously needs to be a variety of planets, but imo there have to be plenty of 'boring planets' in order to make the good ones somewhat special and worth finding. Otherwise the further along the spectrum you go you end up running about something resembling NMS, which is perfectly good and all, but not what Elite is trying to be.

I've found some really nice looking places, but so far, anecdotally, there does seem to be a lack of really mountainous planets with big ridges and canyons, although that might just be my luck in the systems ive been to.

To be honest, they acknowledged already that this is a problem:

The green tick? (serious query), or was there a statement - (already voted).
Okay.

I mean its cool. But system in elite is way more complex. You want 1 fps? Still its emit 2 lights at the same time when its needed.
Dude, please, for the love of gods, just stop already. Go back to your Fdev mum / dad / other and get your pocket money - you've defended them enough. We're all really impressed down here with your vast knowledge and quick quips, time for a little nap big boy.

Yes, the green tick means "acknowledged"

Yes, all the planets out there can't be winter wonderlands with clear blue skies like in the trailer. You'd still need a well rounded bell curve of different planet types to really appreciate coming across the "good" finds.

I'm personally also rooting for better looking dark, cracked and mysterious ancient ice worlds made from water, nitrogen and methane ices, covered in brownish red Tholins, orbiting in the farthest recesses of star systems.

No it isn't, you're just getting annoyed with other people's opinions once more, just as you did yesterday going around calling people hysterical. Now it's 'ridiculous'. Maybe come up with some of your own ideas for a change instead of labelling other people's opinions to suit your own narrative, because you can't deal with reality.

Edit: My mistake, this is a different person. The one going around calling people hysterical was 'Thistle'. I guess we have a new one now using 'ridiculous' instead.
I was calling the hysterical people hysterical, but I admit the hysterical could also be ridiculous.

You occupy the other end of the extreme. So well done. You know you are actively trying to hurt efforts to improve this game by making clear issues known, in trying to make it look like it's nothing but a rage thread by this kind of silly post you just made?

Oh and I'm still waiting on an answer on your accusation that I was just 'seeing clouds' in my pictures showing repeating patterns, which they do by the way. Wyrd 2B. Ask anyone here, or look at the bug report page on it and examine the pictures of that planet.
