New player - Beam Eye Tracker + Opentrack

Thanks both.
I’ve tried unticking, ticking and starting ED before and after.

I tried last night logging into the ED Launcher without opening Epic at all. ED started but still no headtracking.
The Epic version of the game I have was a freebie through Amazon Prime. I’m downloading the steam version as a final test.

So far ED is the only OT supported game that hasn’t worked with headtracking.

Might be a bit random, but maybe try using minimal ED launcher to eliminate/reduce Epic from the chain. I've not used it with Epic before personally, but it has support for it and maybe iCue and your tracking software will be able to see ED then. Total shot in the dark, but could be worth a try?
Thanks for the link.
I'll try that.

Using the Steam version of ED has the same problem, so it's not that.
I'll try the minimal ED Launcher next.
Have you tried installing Opentrack in it's default location, C:\Program Files (x86) rather than in the root of the drive.
I have just bought Eyeware Beam to see if I can help with this and it is working fine here.

Opentrack-2024.1.1 is installed in it's default location C:\Program Files (x86)
Beam version 2.3.1 is in "C:\Program Files\Eyeware"
EDO is in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Elite Dangerous

Nothing is set to run as Administrator. both the Steam version and the Epic version the head tracking is working fine.
I would think that it is a permission issue so try again with Opentrack in it's default location.
So far I am happy with Beam, I have both Opentrack and beam set to run in the tray on system startup and Head tracking is started automatically as soon as I launch Elite.
Which is very nice, at this point I would say Beam is smoother than AItrack or Neuralnet, I am using the AccelaHamilton filter in Opentrack.

Just a thought, you are trying in Space rather than on foot? Because it doesn't work on foot any more, it got broken a few years ago and hasn't worked since.

Thanks for the suggestion. I’ve only just started, so only done some of the training and not yet left the ship.

You may be onto something there.
I’ll try reinstalling Opentrack to the default location and see what happens!
I may try that with Beam too, but since Beam and OT are communicating as expected, it’s almost certainly an issue between OT and Beam
I won’t/can’t reinstall ED into its default location. My C: drive is a relatively tiny partition.

I came to Beam Eye Tracker through MSFS and it is excellent I find. I haven’t tried webcam headtracking before and it’s a revelation!
I’ve set up about 7 games so far with BET and OT and they’ve all worked as expected. Just ED to crack!

Thank you so much for your suggestion!
Re-installing Opentrack into its default location solved the problem!
