Odd name; the game doesn't actually show lighting from binary systems from what I've noticed. Although that might just be my graphics settings.
Guess that a) the test system didn't work or was buggy as sin, or b) there were too many binaries and trinaries etc. to try to do it properly (many systems that are binaries aren't in ED) or c) it sucked up too much graphics resources or d) was cut with one of the many downgrades to stellar graphics to get things working on consoles, or e) all of the above.

If memory serves audacity needs a little setup to the visualizer before you can make out an image, I had this text saved

"Scale needs to be Logarithmic, set min frequency to 20Hz, and max frequency to 22050Hz"

Will do further digging. Back from vacation, be cool to get to the bottom of this.

Do we have samples of it as it changes locations? I feel that may be important, please make copies if possible every stop!
 
Just arrived in OOCHOST IC-S D5-4 - object #3 is already visible approaching from the DW-T D4-7 system.

Some I've played with and some are "as-is". I've never heard of any changes in the grumbling sound as UIA #3 transits from one system to another. I'll toy with these settings you've provided, thanks! o7

Update: no change in the spectrogram, makes it brighter but no image visible. You may have better luck.

YT uses up to around 122kbps Opus (at least on the first video from that channel I checked), which is basically transparent. I doubt the original recordings would be higher quality (likely to be AAC, which performs similarly to Opus.)

Thanks - I had no idea there was any modification of the sound. I've listened to both original and the youtube copy and can't tell the difference (and, not to brag, but I can tune a piano). I don't have any other on-line accounts to post the mp4 of it, though on my next upload I'll check for any quality adjustments youtube offers and see if I can max them out if that option exists.

FDev will find the way (as usual) how to put us in a poor position - Fleet Carriers are indestructible, but there's no guarantee about damage. We will pay 2 - 3 billions to repair
our FCs, but that's not all - we must find and bring some thousand tonnes of materials for reparation!

I think you mean "...materials for repairs." :)

Interesting point, though - do FC's have weapons? I assume they do since they have to do something about those who loiter around the landing pads but have they ever had to defend themselves? They don't move around a lot so "escape" means a jump somewhere which takes 10 minutes to initiate.

They have the same pulse laser turrets as stations. The ones on mine open fire quite a lot when the security ships scan a smuggler.
 
Anyone seen UIA#1 recently? According to vector survey it should be in Col 69 Sector JG-W c2-0 or Col 69 Sector KB-W c2-0, but I can't see any sign of it?
