Because Empire, only the IEagle doesn't require it. Though for the Corsair, I think the ARX version won't require rank but the in-game credits version will.
Also the ship has very flat surfaces, which should have excellent paintjob potential.
It´s an ugly ship for sure...don´t like it at all.
The shape is like an Albatross. It's not really a pretty bird.

TBH, my first impression was also negative - but it's starting to grow on me
They could tweak the bird beak. Make it a bit less massive lol.
I actually like it- its like they've taken the sinew like Imp aesthetic and put flesh onto the bones.

Looks great, but I don’t like that reused canopy.
I think if I get one, I’ll call it Toucan, hopefully FDev hear me and make a Toucan stylised paint job.

The cockpit looks similar to the Imperial Courier. My only complaint is the beak is too bulky.

Albatrossi are really impressive when they follow you a few meters off the back of your fishing boat, while being hand fed left over squid. They're huge majestic birds.
I don’t mind the beak per se, (giant beak looks great on a Romulan warbird for example). It’s the location and size of the cockpit in relation to it that makes it look ugly. It looks so tiny and out of place sitting up on it like that. Might look better moved up front like others have suggested but it’s still a work in progress so we’ll see. Other ships also ended up having noticeable improvements from the initial reveals.
