New ships for 2025: more craziness / variety please

Before the introduction of the four ships last year we ha 13 small ships (14 if we include the elusive Cobra Mk IV), 15 medium ships and 9 large ships. We now have 20% more medium ships, 7.7% more small ships and 0% more large ships. We'd need another 1.6 small ships and 1.8 large ships to equalise the relative increases between ship sizes. Put differently, we need 2 new small ships and 2 new large ships to spread the love evenly over the fleet as a whole.
For me its more about personality- I mention the Clipper because its probably the most bipolar ship in ED- I want more of that zingy goodness but in unusual formats. Otherwise the new ships overshadow old ones.

Having very much enjoyed the last three of the new ships, so much so that they have supplanted other ships for particular roles in my fleet, I expect that other new ships with the benefit of smooth SCO performance would do the same.

SCO I can understand, its making ships that are entertaining and quirky. Its why I mentioned Guardian ships, as it then ties in lore, unique modules and aesthetics.

I'll toss in the idea I had awhile back, a large Guardian-tech ship that looks like a scaled-up Guardian SLF. Three outriggers around the main hull, held in place by force-fields. Small internals, but the space between the hulls acts as a big built-in fuelscoop. Enormous jumprange.

The FFE starter Saker Mk. 3 would be a reasonable ship to do the small ship with one huge hardpoint thing because it's got that big chunky cockpit section and the rest of it is really skinny.
That certainly is a fun looking ship! Its also different enough to stand out in ED too.

When I was thinking about the small ship / huge gun I was imagining an enlarged Adder- so you'd have essentially a scaled down FdL that could go at Courier like speeds.

New ships should only be made if there is new gameplay that only they can do. We are getting 5 different makes of screwdriver. Awesome.
Its why I talk about Guardians / Thargoids, dedicated SLF carriers (that can have more SLFs in play). Plus I want my Asp Fighter (with Crossfire paint).

I'm definitely on board with more ships, and more variety.
FDev should have released a new ship every 4 or 6 months since the release of the game.
It's a space ship simulator, I say pour on the variety, the excessive, the unconventional (within reason of still fitting the gameworld. I don't want no cheesey classic UFOs).
But yes, more ships is more better.
I want too many options of shipping/cargo specialized ships, I want too many options of combat and fighter specialized ships, I want too many exploration focused ships, I want too many jack-of-all-trades.
I want to have the same level of absurd selection and superfluous frustration of choice as I do when I buy toothpaste!

Like, FDev, rain ships down up Commanders until we're drowning in ships and pleading for even more!

trucks to do cargo delivery missions on planets between settlements.

Huge ships (panther, boa, imp explorer) but they only can land in planet settlements. it could have been fun , something like a war effort where they were introduced as big cargo long range ships to deliver troops and supplies to the front

1. Really small ship still capable of FTL travel, 2 seated so it can be used as APEX Adder replacement (comparable to a car in size not a large truck). Can be also luxury model made by Gutamaya since imperials specialize in expensive luxury stuff.
2. Really large ship, largest possible to fit into mailslot and L sized landing pad which would make usage of autodocking computer reasonable choice and at the same time limiting number of trips to restock carrier.

I took the liberty of feeding your description into CoPilot. This is the version I liked the most.

For me... more plants for exobiology and Boa/Anaconda Mk II with Sidewinder on board to have possibility of exobio searching in big ship not able to land everywhere.

Or deploying and boarding SRV without landing

SLFs that can land (Ship launch tenders?)
More ground vehicles: light and fast bikes?

Yes please!
