New to Elite and wanted to share the video that got me to buy the game!

Brilliant vid, how many hours of gameplay would have gone into collecting all that footage?
I've been playing about 500 hours and haven't seen most of the stuff in there.

A few months. I went to over 70 nebula around the galaxy.

Also I know how to find interesting places. Stangely I feel the use of realistic mode is under used.

Welcome to the game. Don't be in a rush to get to the big ships. Take your time and enjoy the journey.
Lots of people say this but honestly you know what made the game twice as fun for me? Having my corvette.

Welcome CMDR. And huge props to Crusina Luachra for such a wonderfull video. (LOVE)

As others have said; avoid the grind. Just play and have fun. I have 4 accounts in this game, and the reason for it is just because I love it so much. It certanly have flaws etc, but, I never allow them to get in my way of what I want to do in the game. I do Trading, Mining, Combat, Smuggling, Exploration... it is a wonderfull experience to be a spacepilot in my sparetime. In some ways, it is a secondary life, if you will.

And if you ever get VR... holy hell... it just makes the game even more real. :)

I know what you mean... but did you grind it or did you enjoy the journey to get there? I would argue that getting to even a Python is such a great achivement. For me, Python and Anaconda are the best ships in the game. :)

When one of my CMDRs got the Imperial Cutter it was a grand feeling... but to be totally honest, I do prefer the Anaconda over the Imperial Cutter as a multirole ship. I only use the Cutter when I do trading or cargo CGs with that CMDR.

I have yet to experience the Federal Corvette. :)

Welcome! If that video inspires you, then Elite Dangerous is definitely for you!

The best tip I can give is something that I think you've already grasped:
Immerse yourself into the game instead of trying to beat the game. :)

Absolutely! You can't beat Elite. A lot more thought went into the game's construction than went into yours. ;)
