New to Power Play … sell me on supporting X

As the title says … never engaged in PPv1 … but PPv2 sounds intriguing! Given there’s only the order of modules to consider but all can eventually be obtained via any power:

  • Who should I give my support to?
  • Who have you supported and why?
  • And how the heck long does it take to reach Rank 97 if that’s when most powers reward Prismatics?!
So far I’ve been considering Jerome Archer, since the perks seem decent (bounty voucher bonus and reduced weapon prices) and Core Dynamics ships tend to be my favourite. But maybe that is short sighted … I kinda want to support the Alliance or and Independent but some of them seem sketchy and don’t necessarily reward my gameplay (small missions and mainly bounty hunting in RES sites)

I have a new CMDR that's still based in Dromi, and I am so undecided about which Power to pledge to.
Looking forward to the replies (if any).

I am watching Fiery Toad slowly go through his 251 pages of UC data, while he is pledged to LYR, I wonder how high he can go in ranks... He is an explorer.

So if you pick a power that supports or has perks for your chosen in game activities, you can get bonus's and perk's for doing what you normally would do. So win win

I pledged to a power for 30% exobiology boost. Done the weekly activies then came across the ranking required for that 30%. My plan was to spend a few hours on powerplay then go explore with the 30% exo boost.

Probably better things to after like trade or bounty bonus with the amount of time required. You're not going to make much merits while out exploring.
