Work in Progress This is the trade window and the main window side by side. Note that each window individually will fit on a 1024x768 screen.Still messing a bit with layout and a few features.

Arrrh, I'm at work and can't access the dropbox can't wait to get home to preview it, but by the time I do maybe v2 will be out. sounds like it's coming on really well. ArchV1 - where abouts are you based? USA, UK, other ?

This will never happen with any of the 3rd party tools (even the OCR software isn't 100% perfect). The only place it will happen and be 100% is if it was built into the game as it should be, but doubt that will happen very soon.

Having a problem. Every time I select an agriculture station and have the FROM set to MD it stops working. Was working up until this afternoon.

I have tried changing the agriculture label to an different one but it does not matter, it still crashes.

Any ideas?

I'm in Dallas, Texas. Which is why when I make a bunch of forum posts at 9pm; I hardly get any replies because all the UK people are asleep heh.

Don't get me wrong, I really do want to do a darker theme, it's just going to take some investigation.

If you want to send me your save file (system_data.txt), I'll take a look at it. Sounds to me like to save got corrupted somehow. If it's not the save I really will be at a loss as to what's happening.

You can do all those things already mate. For the stations listing, tick the "search station data" and type black market or whatever in the filter field. If you need to mark stations from ouposts (and which kind too eventually) just add a note and then filter by "searching notes".

I'm aware that I can do that, but it would still be nice to have a dedicated field.

For the data entry mode, you can use the F-keys for supply/demand/not-set/illegal..... and the magic combo of "enter > price > enter-enter > price > enter-enter > price.....". Pretty sure it will only get better with 2.0

All righty. Yeah when 2.0 comes out I'll make a new thread probably just titled Cmdr's Log - New Version Available and I'll put a link to this one at the top. Closing this one is probably a good idea as well so people don't get all spread out talking in multiple threads.

Yeah I should at least put that in dialog the Help button pops up. There's quite a few keyboard commands. N for Notes, D for Data Entry Mode (although this will be obsolete soon), I should probably add J for Journal, etc.

Most excellent you are sir. Don't mean to delay your tuesday release date any but just wondering, is the illegal toggle ONLY in the right click menu, or also still on the F11 key?

Looks great. I hope the commodity window i the old, narrow, one so that it fits nicely above the game in a borderless mode (with the commodity info of the game unobstructed).

I notice the loneliness of the hide buttons, but something must be left for 2.1 as well. If I decide to search for new stuff I guess it will be multiple instances. Merging them later should be easy enough, splitting them not so much.

The hiding thing... I'm still debating over how I want to do that, but I think it should be something that's done for 2.0, even if it means delaying releasing it. The Trade window really exposes the need to be able to limit searching to your local area. Since putting in distances and system locations is beyond the scope of the app; it will be up to the user to categorize the systems together somehow. But... still debating how I'm going to pull that off. It will get better though.

As I suggested earlier.

Button 1: Toggle hidden/shown stations
Button 2: Toggle hidden status of selected station.
Button 3: Toggle hidden status of all the currently displayed stations.

It is probably easy enough to swap labels on buttons according to the toggle?

With button 3 the user can hide/unhide according to the search done at the top of the list.

Btw, is there a wildcard/multisearch option for the station filter? Say I want to find a democratic outpost with a black market?

I've already started prefixing system names to group them by location. Would be nice to assign systems to custom groups / flags and filter by them.

Regarding skinning, please make it an option. I really detest dark themes like these forums. The original skin is fine in my opinion. Really looking forward to the update.

I have been using the notes field for this so far but it's a bit of a pain. And that brings me to thing Nr 2) A bug: suddenly all lines with numbers on them disappeared from the notes I'd written for ALL stations Funnily enough the lines with no numbers on them are still there

I've finally managed to get away form work and viewed the preview - very nice, coming along great. Did you manage to fix the Alt-Tab problem I was having when I'm in the data entry screen ? basically the main window of the app disappeared from the list in the alt-tab.

Also any news on a separate "Notes" feature - where we can have notes with a "subject" which we can edit and alter. I'm thinking subjects I would use like:

"Places to mine"
"POI to visit

rather than a note assigned to a station, or journal entry logs - basically the yellow sticky post it notes I have all over my desk.

Also the Station list - Can you sort this on loading please?

Keep up the excellent work - no rush!

Hrm, so you're not talking about System level notes, you're talking about just... global notes. Right? Basically a single notes field that you can put anything in that's not tied to any stations or systems?

The Alt-Tab problem won't be an issue anymore since I don't ever hide any windows in 2.0. I'll double check it though.

This would be useful; I currently have a work-around for this and have created 3 systems, called 1 (with a station called Combat), 2 (with a station called Trade - I also use the station commodity to record the galaxy average for each commodity) and 3 (with a station called Exploration) and have used the notes tab to record global notes for each of these areas. The numbers mean they always appear together, normally at the top (as I created them first).
