Next update?

I see, yeah that makes sense. So there is no info about the next updates right?

Yes we have a small list of things that are planned for the next alpha in a month's time. I think there is a subtlety in that it's at more arms length and impersonal than had been expected, and the rival game has rather set the pace in twice-weekly two-way interactive livestreams and a bug-ticketing system where every report is responded to by a status update on the ticket within days. And this is without the extra price bands for 1)early access and 2)early access with extra news and development screenshots that the Coaster Heads have paid for

That's probably a bit too focused and detailed.[squeeeeee]

Brett, you disappoint me! [shocked]

I just want to be able to choose how the Toilet Paper is inserted in the spool in the bathrooms. (over or under) . I want to see the peeps freak out and come out mad after it keeps tearing on each square.

Is that too much to ask?

I feel your pain... I currently don't like the toilet cleaner that is in use, I know we should all be looking at cost-saving, but really?

[haha]

Think some people need to learn to have some patience and be grateful for what they have put out already.

The game isn't due to come out for at least another 7-8 months assuming it is released on schedule, no way is it going to be anywhere near ready at the moment. Their main priorities are of course going to be fixing the many bugs that arise from the basic game engine + improving some of the core mechanics like they have said they are still working on the path system and coaster editor and also many time consuming things to work on like the terraforming tools etc.

They've been honest with their description of the alpha build and what you were paying a premium for. You're paying the extra to be able to play some part of the game much earlier than everyone else, like the demo discs you used to get with game magazines, but you're not really a part of the development process other than reporting bugs. You're not suddenly a part of the team adding features and ideas to the game, only Frontier get to decide what goes in the end product and whether they have time to do it before launch.

I'm sure they have been reading the suggestions board but tbh a lot of them and either way too grand in scope or far too detailed from people who want the game to be a pure coaster/building/hotel/zoo/waterpark/darkride/lighting/fireworks/bouncy castle simulator. And some of the suggestions like custom music/UGC they have flatly said they are not putting in at launch, I think you need to respect that instead of asking for it 5 million times (yes they know people want it, they've said it won't be in /endof)

Ok yes there has been radio silence recently but I am sure they have their reasons, give them space or maybe take a break from the game until the next update or even full launch otherwise some people will be burnt out from

This is the most sensible post in this topic I have read so far in this thread. Mostly its been about people arguing and demanding this and that from Frontier. Yes I too would love to hear a bit more of what's going on, but they are not ignoring all our feedback or ignoring what we ask for. Yes they are listening and they are also busy, dealing with all the reported bugs and getting the game prepared for the next update in May. So just have patience and be satisfied with the weekly posting from the polls, in the CHC.

Angelis, please calm down a bit, you were lucky enough to be chosen to attend the Press Event along with Kerrash and Chris Sawer and I am sure you all had a great time with the Dev Team that were there. But all you have done recently is shout them down, for not keeping us informed of what is going on. I don't see Kerrash, or Chris posting on here, demanding this and that, and getting all frustrated about Frontier's plan of action. Frontier are listening and taking note of our suggestions, lets just leave them to it, and bide our time, instead of throwing our toys out of the pram.

[haha]

I actually had a friend recently find a company that makes custom toilet paper rolls... he had painted his friends face on each of the sheets and put the roll into his work bathroom (he does car repair/maint). Apparently people were sort of freaked out by the freaky face on it. [haha]

The first thing I want you to know is that the feedback and suggestions forums are here to help make sure that the community can give their feedback and the development team can include those considerations into development. Already we've had some great feedback and we're looking forward to talking about the changes and updates coming to Alpha 2 very shortly.

I understand that it can be tricky waiting to see the next iteration of development but rest assured that the feedback from the community is vital in our development and will be something we will be giving more information about very soon.

Thanks,

Zac

Thanks Zac and Brett for your time. That's something I want to know, what feedbacks/suggestions of the community will be include or improve in the game. And a little bit interaction with the community please... Looking forward for this. Have a nice day.

Pictures... or it didn't happen :)

Wowwww ... You know, I am very very calm in fact. [happy]

Sorry, but no. I don't want to be the perfect sheep you want me to be. Even if you try, it's impossible.

I'm a real fan, not a "fanboy" ! If something goes wrong, I say. I'm not responsible for this topic, and if this topic exist, it's because it has a meaning.
No smoke without fire.

So please, you should be the wiser here, so do not add fuel to the fire. Especially after the effort Zac just made above, in trying to understand what some here (including me) want to say.

And one last thing, if you think that an invitation to a "press party" can buy my silence, and make me the perfect little soldier without brain, believe me, you don't know me [big grin]
I'm ALWAYS honest. If it's good, I say it. If it's bad, I say it, no matter if the truth hurts. This is how I work, no matter what.

There is a problem of interaction here, it's a fact (the existence of this thread is enough to prove it)
Zac said they are going to fix it very shortly.
Everything is fine now (unless it was a lie, but I do not think a single second)

The guy doesn't even have Alpha so how can he tell the people that have paid $75 to be patient?
He has no investment into this like most here!!!

He must be a Coaster head (if he purchased that) which does not include the game and as such probably feels he has the right to tell everyone else what to do. It may be too that he just preordered the game for the final release or hasn't even done that and just has delusions of grandeur. If any of that is the case, I say buy the Apha Early Bird and until you do, pipe down!

I take this opportunity to ask one question, hoping to have an official reply.

Brett, Will you introduce water into Alpha 2 ????

Thank you.... [happy]

Everyone is entitled to their views whether they have the Alpha or not. All he was saying is, have patience. Like I too, have been saying all along. Just accept the way Frontier are dealing with it.

On a positive note ... its great to see how much people care about this game [happy]

Good thing is, we pretty much ALL agree that the game is looking to be awesome, since can't have discussion about that, we have it about the "lack" of feedback.
As frustrating it is, i hope we can laugh about it at the same time because pure game-wise we havent got anything to be frustrated about.

No matter how heated the discussion is, it's nice to see how much people care about this game.

What? I do. My Toilet paper request has been denied. [cry]

I agree there Vampiro. This game is better than anyone could have expected. But we have to accept that Frontier have their reasons for the lack of information and we have to accept that. They have everything programmed out as to how the game will develop and will only tell us what they want us to know, when the time is right. No matter how frustrating this might appear to some people, it's the way Frontier have decided to take. Let's just look forward to phase 2, where we will have the Coaster's and the Terrain Tools to enjoy and who knows what other additions we might see as well. Then we can start wondering what we will get in phase 3.

True, so i guess the information will be slowly but surely start to pick up soon again.
Just like they did before Phase 1 we might see some livestreams again about the coaster builder and terrain editor.

And ofcourse i hope we will get the flatrides that we have already seen... and im VERY curious about the coasters since we know quite a littlebit about them yet.
then it's on to Phase 3 indeed, and then it's only 1 more big "update" into the "finished" version [big grin]

I haven't invested anything yet, I've learnt my lesson suffering burnout too many times from playing paid betas/alphas/pre-alphas. I won't buy any games until they are released in full these days.

However that's not to say that I am not excited about this game, much of my childhood was spent playing RCT1 and this seems like the proper and long overdue sequal to RCT3. I've watched people playing PC on Twitch/Youtube and I'm pretty sure I will end up buying it on release. I'd love to see updates as well, but just thought some of the language and impatient posts in this thread seemed rather charged for a game that isn't coming out until the end of the year!

Man o man what a thread is this [weird] , is it so difficult to understand that between alpha's ore beta's
it becomes a bit silenced they need to work on the game and push it to the next release.
I hope not that it starts again after we got Alpha 2 [big grin]

I play 15 years Blizzard games and its al the same its done when it is done and not earlier
sometimes we need to wait a bit .

Keep up the good work Frontier [up]

Can people stop telling people to be negative? It's not about being negative or positive, it's about two things: mainly about making the game the best that it can possibly be, but also to pretty much get what we paid for.

Once again, Brett and Zack, it's not about you listing every single thing that's going to be included in alpha 2, it's about opening things up for discussion. So, now we know that you've looked into upgraded the path system after our feedback. But what about the other 100-300+ suggestions you've gotten? That's what we want: a discussion about our feedback.

That's what was lacking with the other game, and while I don't see a possible outcome where PC would go down the same dark route, I do still believe that community interaction and integration is very important in order to produce the best game possible. It doesn't mean you have to take every suggestion given to you, but if there are things that you feel were good ideas, then open them up for discussion. Or if there's something that you guys are wondering about how you should go about it, open it up for discussion.

The people that bought the early bird are clearly huge fans of the genre, or they wouldn't have paid the premium for it. These are the same people that kept RCT3 alive even today, extremely creative, dedicated, and innovative people. Use us to improve your game (and not just for finding bugs, anyone can do that), that's my point.

But that not the issue here, the issue was we were just asking for a little more interaction with the team, and it looks like the team has heard us and thats great.

and as for those Blizzard games, those guys were very interactive with their testers, I had a friend working at Blizz on the dev team at that time and I was in the alpha friends and family for WOW, and at least 3 to 4 times a week me and my friends would be in a group with a developer or two. For a few months playing and shaping the game with the dev team was a normal occurrence. Great games just dont happen by chance.
