No Famine? Or a Bug?

Currently it seems to be near impossible to have a famine system because the mechanics for that changed. Its no longer tied to narcotics during a outbreak, but instead economy in general (at least people speculate)... now the question is, how do you bring down a factions economy rather than its influence or secturity (eg killing authority and civillians)?

So wake farming from food drops is now completely fubared?

Where else is good for wake farming?

Jaques Station in Colonia is a bustling port. You won't run out of wakes to scan there.

Edit: Mr. Doncaster beat me to it!

Hmm I need the Wakes for FSD - By the time I've flown to Jaques the DW2 will have left. I started a new account and the station traffic I see is minimal at best :(

Also note, Galmap does not always seem accurate regarding system states.
This may be due to it updating after the tick.
I have seen war states highlighted, jumped and dropped into a system only to find no factions at war.

Jaques is busy because it's got the tourist beacons next to it, so it seems to pick up all the passenger ships for those as well. There must be a few tourist beacons in the bubble which are attached to stations.

(Or you could hang around a generic tourist beacon or even a nav beacon, for that matter)

Okay, slightly silly idea, but what about:
- scan whatever wakes you find just flying about the next few days. You can usually get one or two per station visited, at least. I find surface bases usually good for three wakes if you wait for the NPCs originally there when you arrive to leave.
- get your FSD to grade 4 (you should get the data for that just from casual scanning even if you don't get lucky and find the top-grade ones) and your rep with Farseer to max. Pin the blueprint.
- scan the wakes at the first mass jump.
- quickly go back to the station, use the remote workshop to get to G5, and head off after them.

If you want to farm data - Jameson's Cobra. You'll need to Mat trade, but it's so much faster than wake chasing (was faster than famines even before they vanished). Most OP mat source in the game.

It doesn't always give Adaptive Encryptors Capture, it often gives Atypical Encryption Archives, CIF or MCF instead.

And .. they are all data. Not sure what your point is... or have you found a spot to farm DWE that doesn't give the other wake types - I'd love to know that place ;)

I also couldn’t find any famine systems. Seems like some adjustment went too far unless this is a fluke of randomness that just happened and will soon correct itself.

Im pretty sure Famine now is a state that comes after bust - opposite of investment. OH, speaking of bust, i dont think i've seen that state since the update either...

The entire BGS was reset when 3.3 dropped, so the entire galaxy was set to "none". Seems like famine takes longer to appear than other states.
